Off-season Antics: Benny Feilhaber
Oh, come on now.
Has it gotten to the point when we will sit through an entire video of a good-looking footballer lying sans-shirt in his bed doing an extended cheesy lip-sync in an obviously ego-driven web video?
Why yes, it has.
The singing shirtless cutie goes by the name of Benny Feilhaber. We know little of his status, but perhaps our more enlightened Kickettes can fill us in on why he is currently without a footie squad? Until we hear otherwise, we’re going to assume its because he’s standing in the queue for the next American Idol cattle call.
Good luck Benny! The vibrato needs a little work, hon.

I’m not sure if anyone has answered this yet or not, but Benny’s currently with the US Olympic team and was released by Derby County FC and will be finding a new team after the Olympics. He’s a great talent but I’ve heard plenty of things about his temperament and his attitude that haven’t exactly been positive. I hope he can get over himself, because he’ll be a great talent for our young American team.
I think it’s quite funny… and I believe it’s a back and forth joke in between team mates.
He now plays for AGF in Germany

this is an inside joke between benny and his good friends from home. hes a really good guy and an amazing footballer. all i can say is dont believe everything you read or hear. He doesnt have a horrible attitude and he is extremely hard-working.
as far as his career goes- he just came back from knee surgery to play in the olympics. he is a regular to the us full mnt and scored the tournament winning goal in the gold cup last year against mexico. keep your eyes out for his playing ability, not his singing ability.
benny is def. not gay…. so no worries!!! He is a HUGE goofball, and if you want more proof of this go to ussoccer.com and click on the sights and sounds and search for the benny and sacha padcasts…. seriously the funniest things ever.

Benny is known to be hilarious. He and Sacha Kljestan gained a following after a series of hilarious podcasts on the official US Soccer website (including one where Benny actually sang a Backstreet Boys song).
However, his head got really big after he scored a gorge goal last summer to win the US the Gold Cup (the North American equivalent of the Euro’s, but not nearly as big of a deal for obvious reasons) and he had a total crap season for DC. He seems to have realized that he was an a-hole for a while and appears to be back on track.
And the video is hilarious and terrible all at the same time.

Damn it. I should have added him too to my personal favorites. Gorgeous eyes. Facial hair looks okay on him. I didn't know that he was released by Derby at all, which is quite surprising. And judging by the reactions, I'm afraid to click on that link to see that boy lipsync. Although I can sympathize as I suck at karaoke and can barely lipsync a song perfectly.

Oh my gosh. The only that even kept me watching the video was his AMAZINGLY blue eyes. Anything by Jordin Sparks is a work of Satan, but… his eyes are absolutely gorgey.
