Oktoberfest 2011: Chopped & Screwed

This year’s festivities featured an extremely limited supply of fit footballers who we’d gladly commit fashion faux pas with. Still, we were tickled to see Didier Drogba – who, just hours after Chelsea’s 4-1 win over Swansea on Sunday – put on his best lederhosen and mingle with fellow Oktoberfest-goers in Munich. He was joined by his mates, Steve Gohouri (Wigan) and Rui Alves (football agent). No word on whether or not Didier plans to recycle that outfit for his team’s own Oktoberfest celebration at Stamford Bridge this Thursday.

Jens Lehmann showed up too, but unfortunately for him, his attendance at the annual event violated current club Stuttgart’s rules. How innocently downing a perfectly good pint of lager results in one getting benched, we’ll never understand.

Even more frustrating was the lack of Bayern Munich boys, who were actually not permitted to grace the Guinness tents this year. They still did a fun photo shoot (back in August, our bad for missing) to promote the legendary beer festival, but their absence has definitely been noted by our carnivorous staffers.

Drogba totally rocks the Lederhosen! :D And Lehmann looks great as well. However, the trouble with Stuttgart over a visit to the Oktoberfest was two years ago. ;)

Didi Drogba looks cool in those pants!

I find Drogba stangely hot in lederhosen. It's like he was made for that outfit!

Drogba has a posse of girls behind him…

And, uh, Jens Lehmann is pretty retired now, the article about him getting in trouble with Stuttgart over Oktoberfest was from 2009.

The CHARITY WIESN NIGHT for the kids foundation of Manuel Neuer was a great success and the highlight of Wiesn 2011

On Sunday evening, again 100 special invited guests at the Charity Wiesn Night of the sportPROAG, wants to support Manuel Neuers Kids Foundation with their donation. Shortly after 19 clock, the guests including many prominent faces arrived with VW-VIP Phaetons at the Hippodrome. Above all, the two guests from Great Britain: Premier League superstar Didier Drogba and former Miss World Rosanna Davison.

For both it was the first time visiting the Oktoberfest and fitted with the traditionel Bavarian costume. Didier Drogba, Ivorian world-class striker from Chelsea has been represented recently by the PURE Management (which is a corporate partner of the initator) find there are lot of synergies (Note: engage both for disadvantaged children and families in areas which they know themselves very well) from the Foundation of Manuel Neuer to that of Didier Drogba and he is very underestimated and spared no effort to support the charity event. With his Buddy Steve Gohouri (formerly Gladbach, now at Wigan), he solemnly handed the manager of the Kids Foundation, Sebastian Buntkirchen, a check for 10,000 € and give a re-invitation to his own „Charity Ball“ in London. Asked about his first impression at the Oktoberfest and the event, he said: „The Oktoberfest is unique and known worldwide. I'm in game mode and can unfortunately not toast in this traditional bavarian style, but even it's great to see that people to do goods in this atmosphere“-he also praised the commitment of other VIPs and guests and was lucky to meet also his ex-colleagues Jens Lehmann.

In the euphoric Wiesn-happiness, there was also Rosanna Davison, model and daughter of Chris de Burgh. „This is my first time here and I find it amazing. The dress of designer Lenka Kronseder is really amazing too and I would prefer to wear it forever“.. Because to support the Kids Foundation, she wants to auction the dress of the evening for this purpose.
Other guests of the evening were prominent faces like Alexander Hold with his charming wife, New-fiancee Hannawald and Alena Gerber, a former touring car champion Chrisitan Abt, the two toboggan World Cup winner Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt. The sleek outfit Lederhosn Magdalena Brzeska was designed by well-Kronseder like the outfit of Action Model Miriam Höller. All supported the Kids Foundation with a donation or a personal commitment.

This year the Bayern boys will attend the Oktoberfest after October 1st, after the match against Hoffenheim!! And the photoshoot of this year was made last week!!

  9. AnnaBlume says:

I've actually no idea whether they've again been told not to go, but that article about the Bayern boys not being permitted to attend is from last year, as are the pictures from the photo shoot. These are from this year: http://www.whoateallthepies.tv/kits/88236/bayern-…
