What's up with only (mostly) United girls?? Surely there are non-partisan gals out there that appreciate a cutie? If I had Liverpool forever tattooed on my ass, I'd still think Greavesy was hot. ;) Not the best pic, granted.

  2. Dreamgirl says:

Nice to se him so happy. Looks gorgeous as always.

  3. Baby Freya (Mrs Arbeloa) says:

A non-United girl is here to appreciate Owen! I love his smile, it makes me melt! Wish he didn’t ahev his cute curly locks under that hat but oh well, some Owen is better than no Owen! :) Muchly appreciated Kickette! Now, lets talk about getting Nando on the F5! ;)

Unfortunately, there’s no going back once you’ve made your international debut so…*shrugs*  Short-sighted of them to shut him out.

  9. JenFica – I hear your argument. I’m Canadian too and damn well proud of it! When I first heard that he was not playing for Canada, it irked me but after learning more about his situation, it does not bother me in the slightest. Sure, Canada could use him but Canada could also use 10 other players to fit out a proper, competitive side! One player does not make a team. Perhaps if the Canadian set-up had been more willing to include Owen in their plans (as a teen they cut him from the squad) then maybe he wouldn’t have had to look elsewhere. Once he was with Bayern Munich’s program *then* Soccer Canada began to take notice. It’s that age old thing that if you’re good enough elsewhere, then the Canadians will finally give you your due. Too late! I would have loved to have seen Owen in the red & white of our fine country, but I do not berate him for his choice.

You only get one shot at life and if your dream is to play as much as you can, and internationally, then you do what you have to do. Owen was lucky that he had other options and could play for his Father’s country. That’s the great thing about being Canadian or a Brit – you can have dual citizenship.

  10. JenFica says:

To: losethatgirl: I am really glad to hear the reason why Owen does not play for Canada.  I didn’t know and was always surprised because he seems like a really decent guy – not greedy or anything – and couldn’t understand his decision.  But the Canadian national team has changed a lot since he was denied a chance to play for it.  It has much better players now than ever before, and I (and others) feel that if a few more key positions were filled by quality players, then we would have a great chance to qualify for the WC.  Juan DeGuzman’s brother, who plays in France, won’t play for Canada either, though Juan does.  He’d prefer to play for France.  So sad, but I suppose it is their prerogative.

  11. JenFica says:

Okay.  Owen may be cute but he annoys me no end.  I am Canadian and so is Owen.  Our National Team needs him, England’s doesn’t!  How dare he forsake Canada for England just to jump on the bandwagon of playing for a successful national team rather than helping the one FROM WHERE YOU WERE BORN to help them and be a real star!

I’m guessing this is from the streets in Manchester? But do these guys have training at night? Or maybe he just loves his training kit way too much!!

I hope he plays today. If I can’t have my Michael, at least Owen will be there.
