Voukefala & Paleopyrgo: Greek Sponsorship Ingenuity At Its Finest

UPDATE: Here’s a few Voukefalas players in their ‘Villa Erotica’ sponsored kits – just for funsies.

In more imaginative and original news, the economic crisis in Greece is apparently so bad that footy club Voukefalas has resorted to placing a local brothel’s ads on their kits (brothel’s estimated net worth: 2.4 million USD). Speaking with NovaSport FM radio station, Voukefala president Giannis Batziolas joked that when the club’s execs relayed the peculiar partnership news to its players, they immediatedly “wanted to know about bonuses”.

Just kidding or not, if the ‘ballers weren’t saying it, they sure as hell were thinking it.

Meanwhile another club, Paleopyrgo, struck a deal with a local funeral home that will see players wearing blck shirts with a big cross in the middle.

Last night Monte Carlo played played host to the GoldenFoot 2012 awards, which were full of sexy-ass big, tall and weathy men who like to date hoochies. Damn it, what we wouldn’t have done to have been there.

Random: we’re currently blogging on the fly and using a laptop with a screen the size of an eyeshadow compact. Dear readers, can any of you click, zoom and confirm what exactly was happening with Zlatan’s hair? Was it…a messy bun? A snooze alarm that was slept through? An elastic that’s been stretched to the point of no return? Needless to say, he added in a cheesy hitch hiking “thumbs up!“ for the full dork-chic effect last night.

Note: we recognise that we may need to consult with a therapist to work through why this is actually a matter of importance to us. We’re do not need to be reminded, thank you.

If you can’t strip down to your shorts and take a pic with your teammates after advancing to the next round of World Cup qualifying action, then when can you, eh? Well done, USMNT.

The fellas beat Guatemala 3-1 in a come-from-behind win in Kansas City last night. The US will now go on to the so-called hex, which is the final group of six from CONCACAF to play for spots in Rio.

That’s far too much technical speak from us today. Let’s admire Geoff Cameron’s arms shall we? We’ll take a special hug from those any day. Also, we want to hug the fan who made the giant Clint Dempsey face and then proceeded to let him walk round the pitch with it. Bravo.
