LFCgal- Welcome to Brow Design 101! Alex has the perfect shape for her brows. I can tell from her bone structure that this is her natural shape, so all she should have to do is a little tweezing underneath the brow and at the outer ends to maintain the shape. She has a roundish face so a strong brow works best for her, and I think that’s what she’s thinking as well, that she needs it to balance her fuller face, but she just overdoes it, and she uses the wrong shade, too. This picture is a particularly bad example- I think she might have thought she needed an even stronger brow to balance the heavier and darker shadows she has on her eyes, but it was a mistake. The brow is meant to be a nice frame for the eyes, but it’s all you see in this pic. Usually she just makes the inner part of the brow, nearest the nose, too big, too thick, and because she defines the edges so much, too, it just looks very fake and almost painted on. Her brows are plenty full enough there that all she needs to do is shape and fill in the outer ends a bit for balance. And leaving the ‘line’ of the brow less perfect, less defined, would give her a more natural, less makeup-y look. Most of us natural blondes have slightly darker brows, and a natural taupe colour usually works best. My hair is a cool blonde, as opposed to more golden, so I use a slightly greyish taupe (actually I use Bobbi Brown’s ‘Cement’ shadow and it’s perfect). You should choose a colour slightly lighter than your brows themselves.

Now, seriously LFCgal, tweezers and champagne do not mix. Put down the tweezers. Enjoy the champagne and deal with the brows in the morning! <img src="http://www.kickette.com/images/smileys/wink.gif" width="19" height="19" alt="wink" style="border:0;" /> In general, the best advice is to go with the natural shape that fits your bone structure. Not everyone will have that perfect arch over the outer edge of their iris. Some brows, following the bone underneath, will naturally be more rounded, with no defined arch. In this case, whatever is natural will more than likely look best. Other than total neglect, overtweezing is the most common brow offense I see. Most women would probably be fine with only tweezing underneath the outer third of their brows to maintain the shape and a clean ‘line’. That’s all I have to do and my brows are shaped exactly like Alex’s. Like I said above, I suspect she should be doing the same thing. If you feel completely unable to achieve your own perfect brow shape on your own, I’d suggest going to a professional once (ask around, make sure it’s a good one) and then once you’ve got the ‘template’, you can just maintain it through regular tweezing.
Hope this helps! Best of luck and here’s to some fabulous better-than-WAGtastic brows!

She’s contributing to the city’s operating expenses so as long as no pigeons or handicapped persons were harmed, well done.
I like Alex bunches, but I would just love the opportunity to give her some lessons in brow design and maintenance. Seriously, I’m an expert and she clearly needs me!

Elise,

I am a huge Newcastle fan and thought he deserved at least 5 games for that and for that F*cking smirk that he delivered when he realized that he was not getting a foul even.
