There are a lot of West Coast girls on here! I don’t see much Midwest action though…it’s a shame.

My hubby and I were in London over the holidays and watched Chelsea beat Newcastle at Stamford Bridge, now even he’s a Chelsea fan, so I can probably convince him that upgrading and getting Fox Soccer is worth it (he likes it, but is really more of a baseball guy)

  2. Emily says:

    Hey LTG!

Do you have the most recent version of Internet Explorer on your work computer?  If so, the screen that you’re in should be on the toolbar at the top.  It’ll look literally like the tab on top of a file folder.  There’ll be a small little square beside it that will open another tab.  It’ll allow you to have multiple screens open in one Internet Explorer window.  What I do is just open so many tabs so that the tabs are so small that you can’t really see what the tab’s name is.  Also, I’m lucky that I sit at the back of my department so no one can see over my shoulder, but I’m super paranoid about people coming up behind me or looking at my monitor from the side.  You can just quickly click on to another (work-appropriate) tab when someone comes close.

    Best of luck, hope it works!! <img src="; width="19" height="19" alt="cheese" style="border:0;" />

Security word: shot98.  Go on, LTG, give it a shot!

  3. Talk about jumping on the bandwagon…

Tell us something that we don’t know! I think the daily mail is about three years behind!

  4. Emily – you’ve been posting on the DL using Explorer Tabs…how do they work? I’d love to know as I am kinda shut out of the proceedings at work and would love to know a way around it if it is at all possible.

(sorry gals for getting all techy and all topic but I need help!)

  5. Emily – thanks for the tip. I’ll check it out on Monday. I’m using a temporary computer right now and will switch to my permanent one in a few weeks so I might have to hold off still.

I appreciate the help!! I miss my Kickette fix in the middle of my day!

  6. freddiegirl says:

The King’s Head is great and I’ll have to come down a couple of times…but being in Burbank the Fox is a lot there are quite a few Arsenal fans there…:)
But I’ll try to make a few games once the season starts back up.

  7. Rusty says:

Jayne, I’m a baseball gal, and I suppose I might have different reasons for liking soccer because I post here, but I think your husband can do it.

  8. Gigi Neville-Brown says:

Tammy, I like the new name that you gave me.  Yes, all other Kickette LA girls, the atmosphere at The Kings is great, and it is a United bar, as far as I am concerned.  That said, all are welcome, obviously.  I make my pilgrimage from Hollywood no matter what time the match is on.  And they are always open for the big matches, no matter the time.  We need more ladies there, who are serious footie fans, so come down.

  9. Sarah x says:

    The Jeans Are Bad..
    The Hair Is Worse..

  10. Moongirl (Mrs Sender says:

Shes got that strange skinny body massive head thing going on – like a Bratz doll!!

I wonder if her feet come off like theirs!

Hi Dolce – another ‘pool supporter is there no one out there who shares the pain and humiliation of following a team outside the top four??

    I feel so inadequate (spelling?) <img src="; width="19" height="19" alt="downer" style="border:0;" />

  11. Signora Maldini says:

    Ah. Thanks TFO! I’ll bookmark it. <img src="; width="19" height="19" alt="grin" style="border:0;" />

  12. Jayne says:

    Hi all,
I’ve been reading Kickette for nearly a year but never posted. I became a confirmed WAG watcher during the ‘06 World Cup and have been silent long enough…why can’t Carly learn to properly dress herself?
I manage to put myself together better than that without unlimited cash and I work full-time (whoops..forgot she was a “personal trainer”)!
Anyway, in short, my 52 year old mother knows that a boxy cable knit sweater, too-white trainers and finger-in-socket hair is outdated…why doesn’t Carly?

  13. Oh, Signora, just click on my name and it should pop up.

    If that doesn’t work:

  14. Emily says:

I agree that this photo is shot from a bizarre angle, so it makes her look even worse.  I would like to give her the benefit of the doubt that it’s bad weather that has blown around her hair (note the brolley), but something tells me that the potential wind only made a bad hair situation worse.

Joe, for goodness sakes, change out of the trackies when you’re not training!  You look like a right scallie!

(P.S.  This is my first day back at work—my job is sessional, and I’d been off work since Feb 1st—so I’m posting on the DL.  Thank goodness for Internet Explorer tabs!!!  Couldn’t go a full day without posting, and am very anxiously awaiting the Thigh Off photos!  cheese )

Keyword: sure19.  I sure hope Gareth Bale turns 19 soon so I don’t feel quite so bad perving on him… lol

  15. bangonthemoney says:

Kickette, can I have thighs now, PLEASE?

  16. Signora Maldini says:

TFO, why don’t I have the link to your blog? *sobs*

    Could you post it for moi, pretty please? I’d love to read <img src="; width="19" height="19" alt="grin" style="border:0;" />

@ bangonthemoney – LMFAO. 10 year old aspiring she male. Eerily accurate description.

  17. bangonthemoney says:

    Ew. Ew. Ew.

She looks like Laura Bush’s long lost daughter with that helmet hair – in the body of a 10-year old aspiring she-male.

  18. Yes, Signora, it’s the extended version of the one I posted on my blog the other day.  Yes, it is a little dizzying; and may cause epileptic seizures!  I am not a fan of Cesc kissing the lens, but then I’m not a Cesc fan.  wink

  19. Signora Maldini says:

@ TFO – Is this the add with the camera moving around in weird ways? I have to say it made me sorta dizzy. I like the other one – with all the languages – so much better. <img src="; width="19" height="19" alt="grin" style="border:0;" />

  20. Anja (Miss Red) says:

TFO, thanks, I like that ad too :D

  21. cassie says:

wtf is she wearing?!?  that sweater looks like something i 10 year old would wear, and is probably the same size for a 10 year old.  the jeans are horrible and definitely pre-creased, which makes them worse.  and the sneakers and hair!!!  ahhhhhh!  i think she has a really cute face and obviously is quite fit, but i just don’t know about her.  i’ve said before that i don’t care for her all dressed up with the make-up on either, and obviously don’t like her like this so i just don’t know where to go from here……where’s alex when you need her?!?…i know i don’t like her.

  22. carly says:

    This photo is simply…ODD.
Carly’s head looks like it was glued to a strange (terribly-dressed) body.

Please someone buy her some decent clothes! Not Joe, obviously, cause he probably doesn’t have clothes of his own (so he wears the Chelsea kit)…

  23. MrsMichaelOwen says:

Okay where do we start? The jumper—brought from ladies realm?? Looks far too granny-ish and shapeless for her figure! The jeans? Lets not go there! The hair Carly my love sack your hair dresser for the sake of our eyes please! Also body language? Please make yourself more intrested in your own boyfriend not the bloke behing the camera..or we will have to sack you as Joes other half and replace you with one of Kickettes adoring Joe Cole fans!! ta love xx

  24. one_love=cesc_fabreg says:

i just took another look and am wondering what the bloody hell could explain this????

  25. one_love=cesc_fabregas says:

cole is like… eh i dunno who’s this!! probably thats why he tooks two steps behind her… plus carly’s head can definately cover him up..

  26. Zatil says:

Welcome to all the new girls!! :D

OMG~what’s with that hairstyle? it’s just plain ugly!she looked like she had been trapped in a tornado twister lolx~

And where are the thighs?Really need to do some perving [haven’t done any since monday]…

  27. Becca x says:

    Ohh Not The Hair Again!

And What Is Up With That Jumper?!

  28. Girls, off-topic, but I am excited.  I love the new Nike ad featuring Cristiano, Roo, Cesc, and a bunch more.  Finally found a copy and I posted it at my blog site.

  29. Dolce says:

    Thanks for warm welcome, ladies

  30. tammyv says:

We need to have an LA (West Coast – for you LuvLamps) meeting one day!

  31. Dolce says:

Wow, quite a West Coast crew on here, huh?  I’m an LA bird as well – Playa/Marina del Rey area.  Although, I work during the week in Atlanta—crazy jet set life of a consultant.  I haven’t watched any matches at a local pub, yet..

  32. Anja (Miss Red) says:

Oh Carly… Maybe he’d hold your hand if he wouldn’t be so ashamed of his girl’s (hair)style… On the other hand… He could dress up a bit too.

Kickette, where are the thighs? I need them…

  33. LoveLamps says:

Hi ladies and SB, I feel your Newcastle love.  Robson Green is one of my fav actors and he’s a huge Newcastle supporter so I’ve always had a small soft spot for them.

In the good ole US of A, we get footie on Fox Soccer Channel (FSC) and Setanta Sports and I subscribe to both.  While I don’t mind heading to the pub to catch a game, I’m a slave to my job and so I normally TiVo everything during the week and watch on the big, beautiful flat screen I bought just to see my Frankie in HD glory.  On weekends, I set my alarm and watch in my PJs with my Chelsea scarf (of course I turn up the AC to do so!).

And yes I’m in the hellish desert that is Arizona.  Someone save me from this heat.  FRANK COME RESCUE ME!!!

  34. mrsredknapp says:

    aah thanks gigi, hope so!

  35. Gigi Neville-Brown says:

Cheer up mate.  You just beat the two best teams in the PL, and you look this glum.  Maybe its the thought of being smothered by the hairdo that has got you so blue.  Carly, WTF are you thinking?

A warm welcome to the new ladies.  You will love it here.  cheese

  36. klyn312 says:

oooh, yikes, not he-“loo” yuk. I mean HELLOOOOOO! raspberry

  37. klyn312 says:

    Signora Maldini- LOL!! brilliant!

Heloo to all the new girls (i’m a relative newbie too)!!

Thighs please!! how about some *neutral* thighs to oogle today!!

  38. Deanna says:

Thank you so much LucyLu and Rusty! It’s great to be a part of this wonderful community!

    Hi Jayne!  <img src="; width="19" height="19" alt="grin" style="border:0;" />
It’s the same for me, there’s no one here(in India) who’s interested in football, cause it’s really not big at all. They’ve probably not even heard of the clubs, so all I have is the internet!

  39. TammyV says:

Kingshead is way better! Plus Kickettegirls are there

  40. mrsredknapp says:

Hiya, I’m also new to posting here, only found the website a couple of weeks ago! Don’t know what took me so long, love footie and wag gossip/bitching!

  41. freddiegirl says:

No tammy, I go to the Fox and Hounds to watch matches…but would be down to go to the King’s Head for the
I hear Lucky Baldwin’s in Pasadena is a great place for matches as well…:):)

  42. LoveLamps says:

Why do the men of my beloved Chelsea insist on finding super gross women?  I mean, Cashley has one of the most beautiful women in the world (no one can fully explain why) and Petr Cech’s wife is adorable and some days Toni is ok, but otherwise the Chelsea WAGs are a super gross and Elen is their leader!

  43. Signora Maldini says:

    Welcome Dolce!

And ohh, yes! Where are the thighs? Bring them on STAT. I could use some cheering up. *sigh*

  44. Dolce, you picked the *best* day to join in – it’s Thursday Thigh Off !!!!!!!!!

  45. LucyLu says:

Welcome Dolce grin Where does your footie allegiance lie?

  46. DiorHeels says:

    Three words: what. the. f*ck.?

    Welcome Dolce! :D

  47. Dolce says:

    Ummm… is she seriously rockin’ a comb-over?? ala Donald-Trump-style?

BTW, hi all, I’m new here.  Been reading this site for a while… just now decided to come out and join you guys.

  48. Chel.C. says:

At least she hasn’t had a bad affect on Joe. His fashion sense seems relatively unaffected in this pic….although he probably just came from training.

He also looks mightily embarrassed and trying to wish himself away…to Moscow perhaps?

  49. Signora Maldini says:

And you know what? I bet that thing living on her head, is related to the creature living on Beckham’s neck.

  50. sarabee says:

Lol!  Its not so much long hair, its TALL hair!

  51. FootballerChick43 says:

She is VERY weirdly proportioned. Those jeans frighten me. And I really don’t like her hair. But then again, I’m not into long hair.

  52. LucyLu says:

    <img src="; width="19" height="19" alt="LOL" style="border:0;" /> Signora Maldini!

The body language is all off here, look at him with his hands in his pockets! Weird.

  53. Johnna says:

My lord that is some hair.

  54. It’s always nice to see that a soon to be married couple look to be SO in love!!

  55. Signora Maldini says:

Does her hair have some sort of genetic defect? I have never seen her get it under control. Maybe she is bald and this is some sort of dead animal that has taken up residence?

  56. sarabee says:

    Errrr….scruffbags I meant!

  57. sarabee says:

Im surprised her tiny legs havn’t buckled under that huge head and that big hair.

It must be the all the material in those ugly jeans thats keeping thats keeping the balance.

They look like a couple of scuffbags.

  58. Weird looking.  That’s all.

And they never look happy together. What’s with that?  Joe looks like he’d rather be a million miles away.  From her.

  59. tammyv says:

I am in Hollywood but work in lovely Santa Monica.  Do you go to the Kings Head to watch matches?  You should!

  60. freddiegirl says:

    Yes…in beautiful downtown Burbank…:):):):)
    Nice to meet you TammyV..<img src="; width="19" height="19" alt="smile" style="border:0;" />

  61. Now, I like Joe quite a bit but would it have been too much trouble to change out of his training gear for a stroll with his girl? It’s kinda like those musicians who walk about with their own tour t-shirts on—shouting out, ‘hey, I’m in this band!! I think people in London know who you are, Joe. He probably smells too coming from training in the same gear. Stinky!

As for Carly, she looks a bit ‘deer in the headlights’ in this one. Did the photog suddenly jump out at her from behind a garbage bin? I agree with Aoife – she does have an odd dolls body. Her lower half looks to be that of an 11 year old pre-pubescent. Everything about the clothes and grooming is horrid. Carly love – use some of your cash to hire a stylist! Those pants with the creases look like she’s been living in them for 10 years!

    A smelly couple! Ew.

Kickette, please heal our eyes and give us THIGHS!!!

  62. TammyV says:

Freddiesgirl, are you in lalaland with me?  I know that Gigi The G’Nev-Brown is in LA as well

  63. Aoife says:

She is kind of weirdly proportioned, doncha think? Or maybe it’s the angle of the photog. Her head looks massive and she has a tiny doll body.

the outfit is something I would have thought was cute and preppy when I was 15 and didn’t understand either word properly. And the creases? Are they real or pre-creased?

    Joe – also, massive head.

    The hair – WHOOSH!

  64. freddiegirl says:

Oh Carly.  Can’t really say anything that hasn’t been said already.  Granted the angle is bad but so is her hair….and the jeans…
Has she always had a large head or is the bad angle calling more attention to it?

  65. freddiegirl says:

Seems as if there are a few of us in LaLa Land…:)

  66. N07 says:

TFO -  that Nike advert on your freshlegs blogspot – how unbelievably good looking is C-Ron in close up??!! I have ever seen him look that good before!

    Thankyou cheese  tongue rolleye

  67. Rusty says:

Jayne, I have Fox Soccer Channel and if the game’s not on FSC (or an ESPN) and I want to watch it that badly, I go to a pub. Monday I’ll be watching Chelsea and Newcastle (who I’ve shaken as a second team because they finally realized long after I did that Alan Smith has forgotten how to play striker, if he ever knew how in the first place) at a pub.

  68. lucyboo says:

    lol! good one!

  69. Jayne says:

Great! LoveLamps, you’re a woman after my own heart!

I lived in Kensington for a year during college and ended up following Chelsea (even though he was at West Ham at the time) and just stuck w/ him ever since.

Are you US ladies able to watch the games? I listed on Saturday mornings on my XM radio on the BBC station. I know the Fox channels carry some games though.

  70. TammyV says:

Jayne. I am in LA, Loves Lamps is in AZ (I think?)  Lots of American girls here.

Monday should be good!  What I really need is those scumderland brats to get it done against Bolton to keep Fulham and my American boys up

  71. SB says:

    That’s one Good explanation, TammyV. So true.  <img src="; width="19" height="19" alt="smile" style="border:0;" />

And yeah, Lamps 8 will look pretty good!  <img src="; width="19" height="19" alt="wink" style="border:0;" /> . I’m really looking forward to monday’s game. But to me, it’s kinda win-win situation. If we win Chelsea, we win Chelsea. If we lose to them, they’re 1 step closer to the trophy!

Also, Can someone tell me, why there’s no thigh off, today? It’s like something’s missing from Thusday, LOL

  72. Jayne says:

Thanks for all the warm welcomes. It’s hard to find other ladies here (St. Louis, Missouri, US) who enjoy or even really know about football(ers)…well at least non-American football

  73. carly says:

    oK, sorry, a bit out of control now… <img src="; width="19" height="19" alt="long face" style="border:0;" />

My security word is labor, it’s labour day and the thighs are being worked on, I’m sure.

  74. TammyV says:

Welcome to all the ladies…SB you might be my soccer twin.

I’m a huge NUFC fan with a soft spot for Lamps and Chelsea.  I love that Lamps, I am seriously considering getting “Lamps 8” on the back of my new shirt.  That boy would look great in the barcodes (and not JUVE’s stolen look ones)

My Derby explaination is this, and feel free to use at liberally: Look, we were just doing our part to make sure that Scumderland retained the records for religation with least points earned.  Somethings are more important then winning…making sure Sunderland humiliation stands the test of time is one of them and for that we were willing to take a little for the greater good.

I am so thrilled we have so many ladies joining in the foot (and baller) love.

  75. Rusty says:

    Welcome, Jayne and Deanna!

Joe’s unibrow totally turns me off. But my man has a Cro-Magnon brow ridge, so I don’t know that says.

  76. Signora Maldini says:

    @ Kyln312 – I am happy I could entertain <img src="; width="19" height="19" alt="wink" style="border:0;" />

This site is a form of therapy for me. I think I’d have been locked up by now without it. <img src="; width="19" height="19" alt="LOL" style="border:0;" />

  77. SB says:

    I love the Toon. Had an awful season (The fact that we gave 4 points to derby makes me wanna cry <img src="; width="19" height="19" alt="angry" style="border:0;" /> ), but things are looking up lately!  <img src="; width="19" height="19" alt="surprised" style="border:0;" />

And yeah, I’m joining the Chelsea love, officialy lol

  78. sweet_dreamz says:

Oh dear…after looking at this pic, it made me want to do my own hair!

  79. klyn312 says:

Signora Maldini you have had me laughing out loud at work all day!!  <img src="; width="19" height="19" alt="LOL" style="border:0;" />
“effective form of birth control” too right!

  80. LucyLu says:

    Philippe’s a Newcastle fan? <img src="; width="19" height="19" alt="wink" style="border:0;" />

  81. Moongirl (Mrs Sender says:

Hi SB! You have my sympathy if you follow the Toon – my hubbys a fan and is either mega down or deliriously happy!!!!

Can’t join you in the Chelsea love though as ive never forgiven Drogba for bulling my Philippe so badly when they played Arsenal last season! <img src="; width="19" height="19" alt="angry" style="border:0;" />

    Thighs people please!!!!!!!!

  82. Jayne says:

    Thanks for the welcome LucyLu!

I’m happy to be here with all these witty like-minded ladies!

  83. LucyLu says:

Welcome Deanna, Jayne and all the other new girls posting today (I haven’t read through all the comments but have noticed a few intros!) grin

Still no thighs eh? *Twiddles thumbs* I’ll wait all night if I have to! I need a thigh remedy – like a soothing ointment on my wounded footie heart. *Goes back to the other thread to gaze at Nando’s*

  84. SB says:

Moongirl, lol, yeah. It’s pretty hard to be a fan of a team outside top 4, isn’t it? I’m a big fan of Newcastle (well mostly coz of MO at first) and following NUFC is not an easy job!

But I’m supporting Chelsea (soft spot for them) for EPL and CL trophies! Almost cried when lamps scored last night.

Lastly, Smile Joe, even I’m smiling coz Chelsea’s gonna go to Moscow

  85. brandy says:

I’m confused. I can’t see her midriff! The hair… I think she is mocking us. She used to not brush it, now it looks like she is teasing it into an 80s rat’s nest on purpose. Why is her head so big?!

  86. SB says:

    Oh, dear!

    The jeans?!?

    The shoes?!?

    The top?!?

    The HAIR?!?

    The body proportion?!?

I really can’t find anything nice to say about her (tried really hard u know)

  87. Signora Maldini says:

Interesting theory, Explanation Please. My first thought would be that it was some sort of odd mating ritual but upon further consideration, I believe it’s more likely to be a rather effective form of birth control….

  88. 11?ExplanationPlease says:

hmmmmm, what does it all mean?

could it be that she is from a culture where big hair is en vogue question

  89. xlxcx says:

Oddly enough I feel the hair is an improvement.

  90. Deanna says:

    Hello all!

Like some of the girls above, I too would like to introduce myself. I have been reading Kickette for a few months now, and even more than the articles I love reading your comments! Honestly, they are hugely entertaining! I guess I sort of feel like a know many of you already. So anyways, I finally decided to take part in the discussion too, if you don’t mind.

I’m a huge United fan, but I have a soft spot for Liverpool too. MrsXabiAlonso, I blame your husband for that(don’t worry, I just admire from far, he’s all yours!). I was crushed that we’re not meeting Liverpool in the final. A huge hug to all Liverpool fans, your team fought really hard and deserved to be there.

Hope to get to know lovely ladies better!

Regarding, Carly, I found her quite cute in some pics. This one is a rather bad one. And Joe is very cute, perhaps the only Chelsea player that I like, no offense to anyone.

  91. Rusty says:

That is sooo the sweater of a 12-year-old. I guess her body is that size, but her head is the size of that of a grown adult.

    Their sneakers are blinding!

How does she manage to get her hair that way? I want to do the exact opposite.

And yes, the picture’s from a crappy angle.
