Pitter Patter: Fernando Torres and Olalla Dominguez Have a Baby Girl – UPDATED
Update: Looks like Olalla had to be induced because, well, she was becoming the size of a large building. Thus, the “planned” date of delivery, even though baby Nora had a natural birth.
Fernando has yet to leave the hospital and is sleeping in the same room as his wife. Mmm day-old Nando.
His parents have arrived from Madrid to see the baby. A relative told the media that there will be a press conference in a few days, and that the pair will be leaving for Liverpool fairly sharpish as training starts soon.
Another “confidential source” said that Olalla ate from the regular hospital menu and did not make any special requests. We know you need this type of information, Nando-crazies. We need it too. Countdown baby photos begins.

So: Liverpool’s Fernando Torres has become a father. He is now responsible for another human being. The mind boggles.
Olalla has given birth to a healthy baby girl at 10.30 this morning at the Hospital La Rosaleda Compostelan, in Santiago Compostela, Spain. Both the new mum and the bubba are resting and doing well.
Fernando had the hospital on serious lock – hiring security to ensure nosey stalker types like ourselves couldn’t get up in the mix. The pair have been spending the last ten days keeping a low profile at Olalla’s parents house in preparation.
Interestingly, the reports coming in at this stage suggest a C-section, but we’ve yet to get that confirmed. The birth is simply being referred to as “planned.“ Unless Nando’s freckles have some sort of crystal ball fortune telling ability, we’re going to assume Olalla went under the knife.
No name for the little one as of yet Reports say they have named the baby Nora. She weighed 3 kilos, 7 grams when she was born. The doctor was a family friend of Olalla’s and declared the baby “in perfect condition.“ We would expect nothing less.
Have any suggestions for a name? We like the sound of Kicketta. No?

I suspect that little Nora was overdue, hence the induction. The July 15th date put about might be a)media invention or b)to put the media off around the actual due date. Whichever way, Olalla probably feels very relieved now.

FWIW, I thought besides her tummy housing what seemed like a larger than 3.7 kilo baby, she seemed to keep her shape quite well.
Anyway, congrats to them; I know nothing about the couple, but Olalla looks like a down to earth chica who doesn’t seek out an ill-deserved spotlight. They’re going to adore being parents more than they can ever imagine.

planned could mean she had an induced labor, which is not unusual especially if the doctors think the baby is getting too big, or if she is way past due. Parents can also get a doctor to induce labor for convenience sake as well, maybe if Nando had to report to ‘pool soon and obvi Olalla can’t travel… I’m not a doctor but I come from a big extended family lol… no matter CONGRATS FERNANDO AND OLALLA!!!
