Pitter Patter: Mikel Arteta and Lorena Bernal

imageEverton’s Mikel Arteta is the proud father of a new shiny baby boy. 

His long term partner, Lorena Bernal, gave birth on Monday to a healthy 3 kilo (6.6 lbs) baby.

Lorena (a former Miss Spain) went in to the hospital for a routine check and discovered she was already in labour.  That’s one impressive pain threshold.

Hola! Magazine is reporting that Mikel raced as fast as he could to the hospital when he heard the news, and that the birth was straight-forward and done naturally.

No name for the new baby yet, but we’ll update here when they make it public. 

The pair plan on getting married next year.

    Yayyy congrats! Well Mikel is Basque so the baby's name has to be weird like all the Basque names. I'm telling you whatever name they choose, it is one of the names of the players in Athletic Bilbao too =P
