QOTD: Sylvie van der Vaart on Hair

“I lost my hair. The first day I had my wig, I thought, everyone’s looking at me, but now I’ve become accustomed to it – I sleep with it, I do sports with it.”

–Slyvie van der Vaart discussing how she’s been dealing with hair loss after chemotherapy.

We love that Sylvie has embraced being fully wigalicious during this difficult time. Think the straight look is far more flattering though. We’d rock that faster than you can say “Tyra Banks lace front.”

Thanks TS!

  1. Wig Lady says:

It’s amazing how much a wig can change a person. She looks great with straight or curly hair. Lace front wigs are the way to go but I must say that her curly hair tends to make her a little more sexy.

    aww:(

  3. Baby Freya says:

Bless her, her and her family must be going through a tough time of it so best wishes to them all and heres hoping Sylvie makes a super speedy recovery. I wouldn’t have guessed they were wigs TBH…she looks great.

  4. Johnna says:

Ugh this brings back painful memories. But good on her for keeping her spirits up in painful times. I wish her the best.

  5. Becca (mrs lampard!) says:

  7. Susie says:

  9. FootballerChick43-"Mrs.Ballack" says:

She looks amazing with both, but I love, love, love the straightened one. I adore her, seriously. She’s so strong and upbeat!

Here’s to the best for you, Sylvie.

  10. Fer_Lahm says:

    Aw, she looks HERMOSA!

  11. DutchThinksRamseyishot! says:

Wow she has great spirit and she still looks as beautiful as ever, hope she gets better soon ;-)

  12. suzie says:

I remember how traumatic it was for my mum when we went shopping for her wig so I think it’s fantastic sylive’s not hiding away and standing proud. She rocks it.

  13. Mariam says:

i love her! i prefer the curly/wavy hair! bravo to her for not having her spirit pulled down along with her chemo. she looks better than some of the other wags even in her condition.

  14. Merel says:

I applaud this woman. Her wig looks fantastic on her, she looks fantastic. Very happy (As far as happinies goes in these times) and relaxed. Even when she is working her ass off.

  15. Katie says:

What these photos don’t show is Miss VdV’s SHOES. Oh my god. In both ensembles her feet were taking fierce to new levels.

    What an awesome, classy lady.
She’s tiny – like 5′3″. I really think a shorter wig would suit her. Angled bob and sideswept bangs? Unstoppable.

Whatever though, really…Syvlie could rock no wig and still be one of the most lovely women on the planet.

  16. MissEstonia says:

I love her for being so strong and upbeat no matter what. A lot of people would have a hard time with losing their hair, not want to be seen in public (especially if they are famous) but she is making the best of a bad situation and that’s really great. Keep being strong, Sylvie! You are an amazing person.

  17. FirstTeamCoach says:

She looks fab. You can get some fab wigs now, but unfortunately not on the NHS in this country! The good wigs are very very expensive and outwith the price range of us ordinary mortals!

I wish her all the luck in her fight against this nasty illness
