Quiet Riot: Nicklas Bendtner & Daniel Agger, Denmark NT

The ‘drunken rampage’ is a concept we’re fairly familiar with in the Kickette office, although we generally refer to it as ‘arriving for work’, ‘leaving work’ or the ‘editorial meeting’. But it appears that if you are an internationally renowned footballer, such things are rather frowned upon.
Daniel Agger and Nicklas Bendtner learned about that the hard way this week, after being accused of staging their own ‘editorial meeting’ in the team hotel after Denmark’s 2-0 win over Sweden last Friday. According to reports, coach Morten Olsen allowed his boys a little freedom to partaay in Elsinore – an act that somehow resulted in a guest alleging he was assaulted by team members, including Agger and Bendtner.
The incident was investigated by local police the following morning. It had been stated that ‘charges were dropped’ due to lack of evidence, although today’s press reports seem to suggest that the victim, Jesper Jensen, is not prepared to let the matter lie that easily. Especially since the Danish Football Association allegedly broke an agreement that no further comment would be made by either side.
This one could run and run, Kickettes.
