Red Carpet Style-Off: Cheryl Cole v Louise Redknapp

Let’s keep this short and sweet since we should really be tending to our Michael Dawson/ happy place photos. They need to be fed and watered regularly.

So. National TV Awards. Cheryl Cole in Stephane Rolland. Louise Redknapp in something no designer will take credit for as we can’t source it.

Random: Cheryl Cole’s mum was partying at Mahiki last night. What?

Okay fashion-judgy, tell us who you think looked better on the red carpet last night?

Thanks M!

Definitely Cheryl. Louise’s dress looks dull and boring. Don’t like how it fits her either

Umm not a big fan of both dresses, but Louise for me. Those armbands spoiled it for Cheryl.

I have to say I am not a big fan of both dresses. They could have done so much better.

am I the only one who is kinda shocked by the mum phrase?

Louise looks better. The dress is simple, elegant and classy.

Cheryl's dress is almost perfect, but those arm bands look out of place and spoil the whole picture.

I like Loise better. Classier than Cheryl's. Although, it could use some more colors.

  9. Elise says:

Cheryl makes an okay dress look stunning. I love the colour and the bottom part of the dress, but…maybe it’s that little white part at the waist that’s bothering me…. But either way, she has my vote. I don’t like Louise’s dress at all.

    Cheryl. No contest.

  11. margheritina says:

    No doubt, it´s Cheryl :D

I absolutely love Cheryl’s dress. But she should have continued its retro theme (looks like a modern take of the 20s to me) with her hair and accessories. Those sequined arm bands and that gaudy ring…just hideous.

As for Louise, the only place she could work that dress, would be at the Witches Halloween Ball held in Salem, every year.

    cheryl cole. hands down

  14. Liz says:

Cheryl, the answer is always Cheryl!

Louise… the dress is draped amazingly well. The position of her body in that photo doesn't highlight it but the dress cut is amazing.

Cheryl is a rather generic cut in at least an interesting color. She loses points for it doing odd things to her breasts and being an odd shade of orange

  16. Cheryl looks gorgeous. I’m not sure about the Wonder Woman cuffs but they’re not a deal breaker for me. Louise is clad in a dress that would depress even a 60 year old. Not flattering at all. Could be a bin liner.

  17. laura-8 says:

Think Cheryl looks stunning as usual but Louise looks classy in a vintage kinda way :S think i’ll give it too louise though she’s stepped up the style

  18. Redgirl says:

Cheryl has the vintage vibe right for me. Louise looks like an extra from the Addams family. A pretty extra but it's way too goth-heavy.

  19. Louise is much too gorgeous to be wearing such an unflattering, dull gown. I think Cheryl looks smashing. Va va voom.

  20. Boston Red says:

Both are just eh for me. I am sort of digging the faux lace epaulettes on Louise's though.

  21. Innocenza says:

Cheryl: sci-fi mother of the bride.

    Louise: shopped in Grandma's closet.

I get the concept of Cheryl's dress, but the twee little buckle/bow detail on the front and the disproptionate cap sleeves kill it for me. Louise looks fantastic, but I think the vintage element gets lost in the whole that-dress-is-something-I-would-wear-if-I-were-70 vibe. Are those epaulets??

Cheryl: OK, Louise: Too much black, maybe an appropriate belt?
