German model WAG girlfriend Khedira Gercke naked in magazine shoot

You guys had some strong reactions when we posted this image of Sami Khedira cradling girlfriend Lena Gercke’s lady lumps for the benefit of GQ Germany’s hallowed pages. The focus of your ire tended towards the¬†misogynistic undertones of her nakedness vs. his complete coverage, but it appears the Kickette comments section isn’t the only place the photo in question has been causing dissent.

journalists arrested three Islamic countryWe learned today that three Tunisian journos have been arrested for publishing said risqué shots in a daily paper, which has kicked off a hooly of a storm in the conservative country.

The publisher and two editors of Attounissia are accused of “offending the public morality” and will be held pending an investigation, but there are fears that the move may signal return to the tight media censorship experienced under the country’s previous regime.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on this ongoing matter, Kickettes. Are you over the shock of seeing Sami and Lena express themselves through the art of photography and minimal clothing? Still taken aback by the provocative nature of their photo shoot? Go ahead. Sound off.

a very big shame on you sami khedira because muslims do not do such things you were my favorite player but now you are not, for doing these things

  2. Ramzi says:

    To Sami Khdaira ,

As Tunisian ,I am very ashamed of these pictures that you accepted to be published on the Magazine and ashamed that you are my compatriot
What you did ,even europeenien didn't do like you .
If your relationship is so perfect and ggod it dasen't need to show all this things to us :this seems an herotic movie show or sex photo session more than a love story .Remember As Arabic and Mulslems if you still feel that you belong to this love for them means respest and dignity of the beloved one note to let 1500000000 mens share with your wife's body …shame on you …..

The problem with BOTH Sami & Lena is they are BOTH hypocrites. Lena is a "modern" woman – she would be the first to complain if Lothar Matthaus suggested she stay home to cook, clean & have kids (as he once suggested modern women wanted more than these days)! Sami is a Muslim who is happy to be a "modern" German – yet he is an example of what Chancellor Merkel means when she says (Oct 2010) "multiculturalism has failed in Germany." Sami wants to be free to be a Muslim – which like it or not is ruled by the Qur'an, yet he wants to live like a "modern" German. The Qur'an states: "premarital sex is known as Zina and is a major sin in Islam." Hypocrisy. You can't have it both ways Sami. Well, if you play for Real Madrid, obviously you can, but it doesn't stop you – or your girlfriend – being a hypocrite!

i feel stupid doin this over such a topic but i believe the opinions of the people in whatever country are their own right.. if you respect freedom of speech you should also respect how things are run. If you think your system is right enough to be enforced all over the world then they too think theirs is.. people have the right to do what they wanna do in their set up & enforced law system. fullstop. stop telling people what they should and should not promote, and what they should and should not accept into their homes. some people still see such photos out on the street as being offensive, if you don't like it just live with it.. believe it or not some countries still survive without seeing such risque photos everyday..

While I hold cultural relativism in the highest regard, one should also not make the mistake of equating the opinion and morals of a country's people with the way their laws are enforced or their government is run. I will bet you a lot of Tunisians don't support journalists getting arrested over this picture as well, just when they got rid of one totalitarian regime.

  5. mehdi says:

i'm from tunisia and I think arresting the journalist is absurd. Mister Khedira is from Tunisian origins that's why the photo was published.
In a nutshell this is very sad for freedom of speech. Sami is having fun and these poor journalist are locked up for what he did. Plus seriously any average Joe can just go online fetch for the picture and see it there. The people who arrested the journalist are plain stupid and blind to the new reality of virtual life !

  6. Alone- Brazil says:

I keep my opinion too! Photos unnecessary, were only trying to promote Lena as Super Model, which she is not! I'm very lucky to live in a country (Brazil) where we have liberty of speech and ideas, but even here many people are descordando the "work" of the unsuccessful German GQ!

  7. Ally says:

So I find the photo not soooo dramatic. They are lovers…
If I think of Tom Ford's AD campaign … them are really sexist.

  8. Amy says:

If these religious nuts find the cover objectionable then out of principle I'm standing by it. I would have preferred a different cover – but oi – it's just a woman without her clothes on – and you can't even see anything.

  9. Jayy says:

Oooh controversy over the pic – surprise surprise :P

  10. ninotshka says:

cause he's half Tunesian and they are probably proud of his Arabic background, him being such a successful football player? Even if he makes such "immoral" news?

  11. Kristina says:

I stand by my opinion! I still think it's a sexistic, objectifying picture. But thank god I live in a country where freedom of speech prevails and journalistic integrity is respected.

    • Sarah, Madrid says:

True that, although sometime I wish someone would shut them up I wouldn't mind it :p.

    • Catie2838 says:

      Hear hear

    • Kristina says:

*sexist. Not "sexistic". I'm mixing my swedish with my english.

    • Alone- Brazil says:

Cover photos regrettable and unnecessary, as if to prove that they love precisse get naked!
So Bünchen Gisele, Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima, Camila Alves, Ana Beatriz Barros and many others are considered Super Top Models, are not promoting themselves naked on top of the famous boyfriend!

      • onionviper says:

I am from Brazil too and I think you sound unnecessarily bitter about the subject. Plus, you can't point out those brazilian models as symbols of integrity and humbleness either….

  12. Sarah, Madrid says:

question, with everything happening in the world, why is Sami and Lena photoshot being on a cover of a newspaper in Tunisia?!…isn't that big of deal?

  13. bri_saldana says:

    ouch, I couldn't have seen this coming….poor journalist. What's to say…FML
