Either she’s trying to win us over by pretending she’s just a normal chica who hits the trackie bottoms when the going gets tough, or, as some unreliable peeps might have it, she’s preggo. Pray to San Iker it’s the former, for all our sakes.
BTW, a scantily clad Shakira pole dances in her new music video for “Rabiosa” (feat. Pitbull) before finishing off her version of cinéma vérité in a perfect, self-exposing split. We’d love to know your thoughts about her bump ‘n grind when you get a sec, Kickettes.

Not that I don't think she's got an insanely slamming bod, I just found the video extremely pathetic. I mean, come on, BRITNEY could do better than this, and she's about as exciting as a asthmatic guppy. Whoever directed these videos needs to go back to doing gonzo porn, it's definitely his calling.

But this is no different from what she's been doing since she was 24. The pole is totally OTT, but her actual moves are nothing surprising if anyone's been watching her videos over the last ten years.

Fair enough. My comments were not intended to defend Shakira in particular, but to criticize remarks that I viewed as unduly harsh. My comments specifically about your job came from the fact that I feel really strongly about education. But I got carried away and made rubbish comments myself. Apologies for that.

I have nothing against Shakira but in my opinion she just degraded herself from the woman I admired to yet another pornographic pop star with average music. A bit sad really that she feels she has to stoop this low and I think it reflects a pretty depressing society.
She looks gorgeous with that hair in the clip, but it's disappointing. I always had some respect for her because I thought she was one of the few female popstars who didn't stoop to acting like a stripper to sell records… so much for that idea.

This is actually pretty tame compared to some of her other vids, though those didn't feature a pole.
The video and song are ok, but just want to say that i hope if she ever has a baller baby, its not a situation where she ends up looking desperate or trashy. I might not be her biggest fan, but I do think, sex kitten or not, she is a strong savvy woman and I would hate for her to be made silly by some ball bouncing buffoon (not necessarily Pique, just generally footballers)

Taking money and braincells. We have now many times seen Shakira´s booty, which is a nice one. Now I would like to see proof of her rumoured musical talent. It would be nice to hear something more elevating from the radio than the eternal LET´S HUMP recorded by various artists.
I have to agree with you about "Let's Hump". Too many "top 40" songs seem to be about sex…both male & female performers. It'd be nice to hear something with a different theme.
If you want proof of her musical talents, look further back into her discography. She had some absolutely fantastic stuff when she was still a tad indie. I like the fact that she experiments with the sound nowadays, like using electro and techno for She Wolf, and also her classic merengue and latin flavours for Sal El Sol, but like most experiments, it doesn't turn out well. Still, the music is an acceptable phase, it's healthy for musicians to experiment. What's up with the stripper video? Cheapness aside, both this video and the one for Loca look like amateur documentary footage of the strippers and streetwalkers of the city, with her music in the background.

i'm on the fence about this video. there are things i like (sexy boys), things i don't. the song is kinda cool. i like it. and like every shakira song i am sure it will blow up and be played non-stop. i gotta say though, some of the comments here are so ugly and seem to come outta nowhere. shakira is beautiful and has done such good work on stage as well as off. she is someone to be admired or at the very least respected.

The video is decent if you take out the pole dancing. And I don't say that because I have anything against pole dancing (especially when you have an amazing body)… I say that, because it doesn't fit with the rest of the video… Underground hipster basement party AND cut to pole dancing. It's like mixing the Britney "Stronger" video with a video you'd normally see from some Indie/Alt band. Just one big ol'mess.

I agree with you! The song's catchy and part of me wished that | was at that random factory party. In regards to the whole pole dancing segments, she made it look sexy and effortless. I'll be taking pole dancing lessons later this month and I would be so grateful if I could look half as hot as Shakira does in her video.

I used to like her a lot about 10+ years ago or so, when she was singing in Spanish, and was rocking the long dark hair and moody attitude. I still play some of those old cds, like "Pies Descalzos" and " Donde Estan los Ladrones". She was so so so fantastic back then (at least to my personal taste). The lyrics were empowering, the melodies so lovely, and I felt she had artistic integrity. I just don't know what happened. Suddenly she dyes her hair blonde and she's shaking her ass and writhing around on the floor covered in mud, pushing her breasts in everyone's face and moaning. I don't know. If that was her own career decision, more power to you Shakira. God knows you've become more well-known and more wealthy. But as an old fan of hers, cds like "She Wolf" and "Oral Fixation", well, they just don't make sense. But like I said, if it was her choice to make that transition: wonderful. I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for the old Shakira, who seems to exist only in old Youtube clips and my iPod.

She's fine as long as you only listen to her, I think – her music is still catchy, and I love the song (though I like the Spanish version much better, it feels like the lyrics, how do you say it, flow more naturally there. Same with all her other songs for which she recorded English and Spanish versions).
But yeah, I remember pre-2001 Shakira too, from her days performing at the Latin Grammys. I liked her slightly alt look then…..not so fond of the image change that came with the blonde hair, but she's still ok to listen to in Spanish.
