New ‘Do: Shakira

There’s a neatly trimmed pattern forming here, gang.
Remember last week, when Cesc Fabregas finally buckled under growing international pressure (from us, mainly) to cut his monstrous mop? Who was present at the scene? One Gerard Pique.
Now Pique’s Colombian beau, Shakira, has taken time off from telling the world how happy she is to be with her boy (we’re not being mean, if we were in her position, threat of nuclear attack on the office wouldn’t shut us up) to post a photo of her newly trimmed hair on Twitter.
Apparently he wasn’t present when the actual cutting took place, but we figured that anyway, seeing as how she came out of the chair looking pretty hot and not like an excitable pineapple (left).
Although the little mean girl parts of us kind of wish she had.
shakira is one of those people that will be stunning forever no matter how her hair looks – shes got such lovely features, typical of someone who has mixed parentage

It's not the hair that made her look older in the picture, she just simply looks older in the picture because of the 'wrinkle-like' features under her eyes, which were probably only there because of being tired or stressed out by the reaction of her fans on the haircut! lol
I think she looks beautiful, and she would look better if her hair was dark brown.

I don't think it looks that bad. And this is coming from someone who has never cared for Pique and Shakira (together or alone). That being said, I'm kind of biased towards this hair cut since I did go from having long hair last month, to cutting my hair into an angled bob (without bangs) lol. However, it's the fact that just 2 days before Shakira cut her hair, so too did Katy Perry , on whom I thought it looked amazing! So for me, I think the reason I'm not likin it so much is because, in my mind I'm having a "Who wore it better" moment – although there are some differences between the two cuts. As for the old lady comments, I think the flash just caught her bad so her skin looked whiter n dry, while her eyes looked a bit tired. Still better than a lot of people look!
Although not the most flattering image of her…I admire that she was willing to take a risk and do something different! I am used to her long locks…but over time I am sure it will grow on me

Man a lot of animosity! Well, for what it's worth I like the haircut, but I think she looks best with long hair. As for looking old, I don't think it's the hair, I think it's her makeup. She must be wearing something with minerals or sunscreen in it cause the flash is lighting up her face like whoa, making it look washed out and combined with that lipstick, it makes her look very tired. So give the girl a break, just a bad combo of cell phone flash and makeup.
If I looked like shakira….welll lets just say that piqur would not be the only spanish national team member I would be sleeping with. Home girl SEXY!!!

Umm yeah…about that nose Shakira…the long hair distracted attention away from it. The new 'do' …don't. Might also want to find a foundation that matches human skin tones. Even better if it matches your own.
this is not the most flattering pic of shaks. i welcome the haircut, however, because her hair was beginning to look like straw…very unhealthy….time for her to start afresh.

Wow, I'm surprised how everyone associates long hair with youth and shorter hair as making you look old. I think she looks amazing (and not old at all). She looks so much funkier, fashionable, and sophisticated this way. Sorry but long straight hair can be so boring, especially if you're over 30.
What's with the stupid "Eewww she's getting so old" comments? Don't we all? And I'll tell you what, the majority of us is not going to look that good when we get to her age. My grandma is old and she's beautiful. Jealous people are unattractive. Regardless of age.

I like her hair, its only because she has make-up which has caught the light. Everyone looks old on camera phone pictures anyway. I think she's great. Wonder if those ppl criticsing can speak 10 languages like Shakira, or would they prefer the usual dull dull, boring models who are only a decoration on their ballers arms?

The cut is wonderfully done and the shaggy blonde waves were a little tired. The only problem is that the cut shapes her face and makes her look older than 34. I think she should have gone back to brunette, I miss her with warm, dark hair.
The cut itself looks well-done, but honestly, I don't know if a bob is the best cut for her, blonde or brunette. Her (copious) hair was always a big part of her attractiveness imo. I don't agree at all that she looks old. I suspect there aren't many untouched photos of her out there. Flashes on phone cameras aren't all too flattering fwiw.
Maybe it was copious, a few years ago. But now unfortunately it is very, very scarce, though it doesn't seem like it most of the times when she's all done-up because she uses extensions, you can see how little hair she has when she's out and about, in pap snaps, or in backstage stuff =/. She's not ugly though, definitely, but with age she has come to look very average, plain even. Now it's the right time for her to broadcast other charms, like intelligence, elegance, eloquence, culture, and maybee lay back the crazy whore-ish dances a little bit =)

I totally agree! I thought she looked really cute and youthful in the Rabiosa video with her short brown hair. The color would suit her skin tone so much better.
I swear, I miss the old Shakira! She was so beautiful and natural during her golden days. From the time she launched "Estoy aquí" untill "Hips don't lie" she was looking good. But now…
She should get back being a brunette and should have never straightened her hair… it looks dry.
The haircut itself isn't as striking as the obvious re-bleaching that went along with it, she's not old! but by the time you hit your 30's, my opinion is that nothing will suit you better than what's natural =)

I was thinking the same thing. I really liked her hair in Rabiosa. The dark brown really looks good on her, imo. This color just looks too processed to me.
is it a good idea to cut your hair that short when it's really curly? she's going end up looking like napoleon dynamite if she's ever stranded in a rainstorm without straighteners.
Wrong move, it makes her look years older. Girl is not middle-aged yet, but she is starting to look it. Maybe she should relax more or something.
I think it looks good. The long hair looked a bit damaged. And besides, I love short hair on women. It's so feminine.

Like FiFi said her hair looked brittle, when it was long, so now with that haircut is probably going to be healthier. Overall I like that cut, I used to have it and it looks awsome and is so easy to handle. Just brush it and you're out the door!

Yup! I'll give it a month……….. Then the extentions will be back in. Btw,looks like something weird is going on with her face too, it's like she's trying to smile while the top half remains dead…………. Why do some woman think this is a good look? She's not even old! So why can't she just embrace the age that she is? Probably a good thing for her hair. It was quite brittle looking before. That said, I love it!
