Style Files: Victoria Beckham Fall 2011 Collection

Yesterday, in a brownstone on New York City’s Upper East Side Victoria Beckham presented her Fall 2011 collection and once again she put out a fabulous, stylish, and progressive collection. She presented colors, silhouettes, and pieces (including some amazing winter coats) that we’ve never seen from her before.
What’s most interesting, though, is that Victoria began designing this collection before she found out she was carrying the fourth Beckham spawn (whose sex is still undetermined) and yet there are a number of roomier pieces and belly-friendly knife pleats included. She advanced her extremely successful bag collection to include duffels in cashmere and what looked like a digital snakeskin print.
Also new for VB this season were the Christian Louboutin boots customized for her collection. This was somewhat of a surprise since previously, she had worked with Brian Atwood (who was in attendance to show his support). Our shock was followed by our awe, since the Loubs were the fiercest of ferosh. We dream of a day they’re manufactured for the masses (and at a price point reasonable enough so we can all afford them).

Too bad the Grammy Awards happened last night because we can see Rihanna in this as clearly as we can see our future wedding to Sergio. It’s such a departure from anything she’s done before and the belt gives it a special edge.
Our favorite of Victoria’s fab winter coats. Since we’re still in the midst of snow and frigid temps we’re looking to this gorgeous orange coat to warm our innards and outers. Or we’ll just take Joe Hart. Which ever is available first.
Casual and classy, this knit dress is pure understated loveliness, and the raw silk edging is a nice touch. However, it lacks the glamour of the above two options. We adore the accessories though!
Standing Room Only
A more bumpalicious Victoria would look brilliant in this when her pregnancy becomes more evident, as the fabric skims over the stomach area, while still showing off VB’s enviable pins. For us mere mortals though it might actually make us look pregnant, which makes it a questionable choice in our eyes.
We can see where this one was going. It’s exactly the same shape and volume as the knit sweater dress above, but alas what makes the knit version look elegant and relaxed, makes this attempt look shapeless and unflattering. Sorry V, but we doubt even the lowliest Z-lister would wear this.
Please check out the rest of the collection here; there are lots more gorgeous pieces to see! You likey?
As with her previous collections, we see this being a hit with the celeb set and WAGs alike. We know the editors view Victoria’s intimate presentations as refreshing and perhaps even preferred, but we’re dying for her to do a full runway show. She would, of course, have to expand her work a bit (trousers, jackets, jumpsuits, etc.), but she is obviously capable.
