Style Files: WAGs Love Fashion Week
As International Fashion Week spreads its couture-loving, anti-carb self across the globe, several footballers’ wives have come out in support of style.
Sadly, they’ve not entirely been successful with their choices of attire. In fact, we’re about to slap a great big FAIL sticker over these usually (well mostly) fine and foxy chicas unless some of readers step in with some sound reasoning and/or a box of truffles to change our minds.
The WAGs in question are:
Alex Gerrard at the Henry Holland show at the Guildhall and Victoria Beckham at Le Caprice to celebrate 25 years of London Fashion Week.
Sylvie van der Vaart at the Javier Larrainzar fashion show during Cibeles Fashion Week in Madrid and Carly Zucker at the 30 Days of Fashion And Beauty Gala Party at the Natural History Museum.
We find the style choices… to put it nicely, somewhat uninspiring. You?
I agree, Alex looks the best but it is a tad boring!! She wore the whole cropped suit jacket, teamed with a dress and ankle boots to the races just the other weekend, try another look dearest! Victoria is wearing her own line….AGAIN! Too safe! I love Sylvie VDV, and although i have seen her look better (Much, much better) I think we should give her the thumbs up as she is smiling throughout the pain of her condition just now :0-) and thats the main thing. And as for Carly Cole, we should feel sorry for her, 'cos it can't be easy to dress as a 60's Housewife/Teacher!

I don’t mind Alex’s outfit, although it’s a bit boring if I have to choose something to nitpick on. But really, it’s not bad at all.
I love Victoria’s shoes, it’s my dream to have a pair of the YSL Tribute Toos, I think that she owns every single pair ever designed which makes me SOOO jealous! I’m not crazy about the dress, though.
Sylvie’s skirt is weird and doesn’t match with the shoes, but she looks radiant and so happy and so that’s good, at least she’s smiling and looks excited, better than mopey models.
Carly’s dress by itself would have been great but she overaccessorised with the scarf and sleeves.
Out of this collection of less than spectacular outfits; Alex looks best and Carly looks worst! (She should have completed that awfull look by putting a brown paper bag over her head with holes cut out for eyes)
But I just loathe everyone's shoes, though.

I really don't get the killing of Carly. She's not your typical WAG and won't dress like one! I pull my hat off to her just for that…being herself.
Plus she's pregnant and playing it safe.
Looking at Alex, I see sea of girls like her on the street with the same oversized boyfriend jacket and mini dress.
VB looks like she's just wrapped herself in a silky towel and the other typical blonde one looks like a badly dressed Barbie..
Carly gets my vote..
I dont think she is being picked on out of malice.
Carly is very short and tiny so she cant get away with anything that looks too busy. The scarf looks like its choking her and makes her neck completely disapear.
The dress would have worked much better without the scarf and that stocking like arm cover up, what ever it is, she’s wearing.
If she feels self conscious about putting on some baby weight on her arms, then she should have gone for a dress with some sleeves.

Oh dear, somebody please throw a stylist at Carly…i’ve yet to see her wear anything remotely fashionable…the winners in this all is Posh’s shoes and Sylvie’s outfit…
overall the one with more sense of fashion goes to the queen of wags in my opinion…now if only VB could gain some weight…sigh

Like Alex’s outfit, but bot a fan of the boots. Those are fugly. I actually like Victoria’s outfit. Sylvie… like the shirt and skirt, but hate the shoes. Should have gone for pumps. Carly is wearing way too much brown. The dress would have been cute with a cream cardigan or bolero, and the scarf should be burnt and replaced with a simple necklace. Dull, but better than that.
Someone needs to tell Carly brown is so NOT the colour….
Not sure about Alex's shoes, but from the knees upwards – love it!
Carly to me reminds me of my teachers at prom night.
Carly looks horrible. Alex looks okay. The shoes are disgusting. Cut the leopard. It makes her look trashy.
Victoria looks great and Sylvie is ofcourse always great.

Alex Gerrard wins hands down apart from the boots. Carly looks awful, she is pregnant apparently, three months?
I agree with you kickettes, the four styles are AWFUL! It's like, they have a lot of nice pieces of clothes and they want to put them all together, and sometimes they don't fit! They have to look after a good combination in their outfits, and not being so worried in the brand!
BTW, I'm happy for Sylvie van der Vaart, coz she was there smiling, getting over her illness.

I never thought I would say that but I love Alexs Style!
I like what Alex is wearing, Posh's outfit not so much, Slyvie's is a bit sucky but the brown taffeta dress takes the bacon for ugly! God, just burn the thing!
What the hell is Carly doing in the Fashion Week? I mean, look at her, she wouldn't know fashion if she was staring at it in the face, so to speak…

Alex looks a bit orange and those shoes are ewww… but that Chloe Sally bag is oh la la.
Victoria: I have no words to describe her style other than she don't care what we thin of what she wears.
Sylvie: could have done a little bit better but I will not critize someone who just went through chemo.
Carly: why does she look so bloated when she only weighs 95 pounds!??
Other than the stumpifying leopard booties, Alex looks fine. Boring, but fine. I actually like VB's look! Only she could pull that off. Sylvie looks cheap in a maritime way and Carly looks like Little Brown Riding Hood–not a good thing. If she lost the scarf and shrug and traded the brown pumps for a killer pair in a shade that pops against the brown, maybe she'd be able to save the look. Maybe.
No on Posh and Carly – I'm sorry I can't stand the last one… YES on Alex and Sylvie
No on Alex's shoes. And I cant believe I'm saying this- no on SVDV's shoes (her feet usually define fierce). Vic's dress needs some structure and she needs a sandwich.
Carly: ugh. But when has she once got it right? She's never skanky which is great but girl needs help.

No complaints on Alex. I think she looks pretty good. I love VB's dress. It was definitely one of the stand-outs from her collection. The shoes are totally wrong though. wrong style, wrong color. Blech. She needs to put away the YSL's for a while. No complaints on Sylvie – she looks great! Carly looks ridiculous. Hire a stylist please, honey. I shudder to think of what her maternity wear is going to look like.

At least Carly did her hair. And the dress that Victoria is wearing is one of her own. I quite like it. I don't think Alex looks so bad either.
