Style Off: Boys’ Night Out At Chinawhite

Chinawhite on a Saturday night is exactly the place a respectable footballer should be seen when trying to convey ‘not giving a crap’ casual whilst earning a gazillion pounds a second. But how do players overcome this stylistic conundrum armed with only a pair of shabby jeans and a plain white tee?
We challenged three Premier League footballers to just exactly that.** Let’s see how they got on.
Wayne Bridge’s diversionary trainer tactic (above) is a masterstroke of deflection. You see, Wayne’s sneaks are so boxfresh they are dazzling, which works as a strategic attempt to divert attention from his brown hoodie/cardigan with built in ‘paying my respecks, innit’ armbands.
The untucked shirt tells us he has either departed from the lavatory in a cracking hurry or is planning on the kind of refreshment that prevents one from being able to ‘do’ buttons upon returning home.
The same tactic has been attempted by Chelsea’s Franco Di Santos here, who has gone with a straight-up-and-down shirt dazzle. Unfortunately, even if his tee was as bright as the sun it would not be capable of deflecting attention from his Missy Elliot’s “The Rain” music video jacket situ. Supafly, supadupa fly.
Saloman Kalou so nearly has this in the bag. Clean tee, what seems like a decent enough jacket, lovely bicep on show. Tick!
But Sal, what the ruddy hell is with the hat? You may know that it costs three billion from a designer so achingly cool that no one has ever heard of them, but you can get them for free when you apply for a job in a garden centre! Mate!
Who pulls off the look most effectively, Kickettes? It’s your call…
** No we didn’t. But we would have done.

Franco was at Blackburn last year, and he is just the loveliest guy!! He always looks supa flllllyyyyy!! Gwan Franco!!!! xx
franco looks supa-dupa fly. but salomon won (minus the hat). i mean its like some footballers have little or no sense of style. (not pointing any fingers) but if they like i could totally help them with their wardrobe selections. i’m just saying i’ve seen jeans shorts, underwear, extra hair. hot mess
Franco Di Santo looks very cool!
Franco is definitely the winnner here…
And Sal is not bad too(except the hat)…
Bridge….hmmm he should take that brown thing off…
if Kalou had on Bridgey's shoes he'd a won it….shame about the hat
Santo’s is a cutie patootie 4 real
Kalou has beautiful skin
And i dont know but there is something about Bridge that i like….
i guess i have to go with Bridge on this one though
ever since Wayne Bridge the childish (but badass) gesture when he refused to shake JT's hand, i've liked him
despite also being a John Terry fan :S weird.
so i'll say his look is a win this time!
BRIDGE.
Kalou needs some lotion on those elbows.
hu I dunno I Luv Luv Wayne B with capital letters but is it just me or his feet look funny – weird with those kicks?? ??
I concur. I loathe blindingly white trainers, they just looks so dated to me. Also, if you’re going to a club, please put some sort of effort in and don’t wear trainers.
Bridge hands down…
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bridgey Definitely looks the best! Love his blindingly white kicks and his distressed jeans. Black stripes on cardigan aren't my fave but I can totally look past that!
Kalou's shoes make his feet look huge (awkward)…
santos is hot
