Style Off: WAGs At The Pride Of Britain Awards

A bevy of WAGs attended the annual Pride of Britain Awards in London last night. They were buffed, bronzed, curled, and lipsticked to the max. Like always, we have some thoughts on their formal attire.

For the second year running, Coleen Rooney wore a dress from her Littlewoods collection. A gold version of the dress was presented with Coleen’s very first Littlewoods line that debuted a year ago. She stuck to her winning fash formula by cinching in her waist and going for a full skirt.

We applaud her frugality and her brand promotion. It is amusing, however, that her Louboutins and classic Yves Saint Laurent clutch could probably buy three or four of those dresses.

More looks this way (hint: we can’t see any part of Abbey’s underwear).

We hope the individual sitting to Abbey Clancy‘s left brought some armour because her dress could double as a weapon.

Abbey wore a sharp (get it?) dress from Liverpool designer Philip Armstrong’s S/S 2011 collection. We dig it. Mostly because we’re afraid of it.

Christine Bleakley detached herself from the Daybreak sofa long enough to grace the red carpet with her presence.

The future Mrs Lampard (when is that wedding, btw?) poured herself into a sexy Herve Leger strapless bandage dress. We think she looked pretty darn good. It may be devoid of real colour, but at least it’s not black. The day all WAGs attend a red carpet event wearing colour is the day we develop a crush on Yossi Benayoun.

Louise Redknapp took a break from being a walking Stella McCartney advert and wore a dress by Red Valentino, the sister line to that Valentino.

It is quite lovely, but we also fell asleep midway through writing this sentence because it’s just like every other black cocktail dress she has worn.

Yes, all the ladies look great, but we were rather unmoved by their selections. What do you think? Are they fab just the way they are or do they need a shot of colour with a chaser of ‘wow’ factor?

Don't like Louise Redknapps dress. Is there any event she doesn't attend? She annoys me on Something for the Weekend. Christine looks the best and probably bought the dress with her own money, not like the others

5 points! To Coleen for showing that you can mix mid range & designer and look still sophisticated.

i love that coleen, abbey, christine, and louise all look better than the models wearing the same dresses.

Louise Redknapp is my new fashion muse.
that women is flawless…yes maybe a bit "boring" and toned down
but that body…good lord! she's a lady for sure.

Coleen's dress wasn't the most flattering, but it's cute nonetheless!
she could've done better but whatever.
but Abbey just looks weird! i hope that's just a bad angle :S
Christine…meh. looks like something i'd wear to my high school prom
(if i could do it over lol)

A dash of color wouldnt hurt, right? :)

  6. Agnes Wonka says:

they all look fantastic! but I choose Colleen as my favourite, she looks so fab!

  7. Luna says:

Bleakley always reminds me of a horse with this grin. though i should say if not look at her face she's looking rather fine.
And why Abbey such a gorgeous girl is becoming so skinny?(

  8. WendyT says:

I take it Abbey took losing the post-baby weight to the new levels? Or is it the wrong angle? Hopefully, the latter.
    Coleen in my fav here.

I think Bleakley looks good here. Her skin isn't as orange as usual. Louise needs help in the boobage (lifting) department. This is the third time lately that I've seen her looking great, but those boobs ruin the look sometimes. I hate to be so harsh on her because I admire and respect her as a woman/wife/mother, but If they need a lift, don't squish them into a dress that creates the uniboob look.

Abbey, that dress is made to accentuate the neck and shoulders. She should have worn a chic ponytail instead of hair down. Plus it looks like her hair would get caught in those spikes. Ouch! Coleen looks cute.

Louise is in dire need of an appointment with a specialist bra fitter. She's not 22 anymore, and those puppies need good support. And she may need to quit wearing this style of dress, because there is no such thing as a full-support strapless bra, not unless you're supplementing with lots of double-sided tape. On the bright side, I'm pretty sure she still has her own boobs, which is pretty amazing for a WAG in this day and age.

it frustrates me when i see beautiful rich women not looking as fly as they could look.

all of them are boring, my fav is Christine Bleakley she's looking foine!

Abbey could have looked fierce if it weren't for how concerned she made me feel about her (too?) skinny bod.

For once I like what all of them are wearing :) I feel like Coleen could have worn black shoes, but this works too :) Good job ladies :)

I'd like Coleen's dress if it was just a tad longer – it looks a little cutesy. Abbey looks fierce. The dress may not be for everyone, but it's interesting and she looks amazing in it.

  13. Missy says:

Coleen looks cute. I like that her dress has some non scary detail!

  14. JCJ says:

My favorite is Coleen Rooney – she looks cute and sophisticated at the same time!

  15. GaiaBale says:

Not a fan of any of their frocks in particular even though Christine got only the accessories wrong in my opinion.
She looks gorge in that dress but it’s a shame that she has failed trying to match the whole rest to its colour!
