Style Files: Hats and Headwear
In our experience, one is either a hat-girl or not, there is no middle ground.
Cheryl Cole, Victoria Beckham, and Coleen McLoughlin? Hat girls, through and through.
Strangely, at racing events, Alex Gerrard shies away from hats, even though she isn’t adverse to wearing them from time to time. Perhaps there comes a point when inteterfering with the carefully created height levels of la barnette just isn’t worth it.
What are your thoughts on headwear? Are you a hat-girl at heart or do they leave you with the blahs?

The only hat I'll wear is a baseball cap and that's only once in a while. I definitely don't think I could pull off the big floppy hats. I like the hat that Alex is wearing in the second pic though.

Chezza looks good in baseball caps. I agree. And the hat the Victoria wore to TomKat's wedding was FEROSH! But I love Coleen's floppy brown hat the she wore to Aintree last year the best. I've actually been looking for one just like but have been uneventful. Anyone have any ideas on where I can find one?
I absolutely adore hats! All hats, I guess your either a hat girl or not, I can wear them, but my sister looks dreadful. Cheryl pulls them of really well as does Victoria, but Colleen and Alex should stay well away, they're not flattering on them in the slightest.
So ironic because I'm going hat shopping today! I love Coleen in her choice of head gear. She looks so natural, innocent and just plain fun!
I like hats on other people as long as they're not too big or silly. I don't like to wear them, which sucks cuz I'd like to. Too many hair, wind, when to take it off and leave it on, issues. Plus, I must be hot-headed, literally.. it feels like my brains are baking in the sun. (straw hats excluded)

I think Cheryl looks nice with a baseball cap the pictures are not too bad they uite suit hats.
Yikes!! Some of those pictures were, umm, interesting. I think Posh looks best in baseball caps, not that you'd see her wearing one now days. On me all hats looks stupid, I must have a funny shaped head or something. Overall, I think they can provide good entertainment, whether they are meant to or not is a different matter.

Hats are good. I’m from the South. Straw hats are essential. Church hats are important for Easter and weddings. And, no matter where you’re from, baseball caps are critical for bad hair days and long flights!
I like boggans and motorcycle gang style hats, but past that, in my opinion, its kind of like Farmer Brown goes Couture. I mean, I know I'm from Kentucky and hats are a MAJOR part of the Kentucky derby but… yuck.
I think Chezza can really carry off a baseball cap. They look good on her! I can’t wear hats unless they’re wooly and big because of my stupid fat head.
Ohhhh I love hats! I don’t like big Ascot hats but gentleman hats etc.

Cheryl and Victoria – hat girls. Colleen and Alex should never wear them! I love the British tradition of wearing them to weddings and races. We just don't have that here in America. Leaving me with no excuse/reason to ever try getting away with it!
Cheryl, for the love of God, eat something. That pic of her in the blue trilby is skeletal scary.
The key to alleviating hat hair is to switch your part before placing on said headgear then switching the part back once you've discarded it. A handy travel bottle of hair spray for volume always helps as well. LOL!
Thanks TFO. A good hat can complete an outfit in my opinion. Your hair after the hat is taken off should not be a deterant when selecting what to wear.

I wonder how Alex can see to drive in her hats? Clearly they lie in wait on the passenger seat, ready to pull on for that photo opportunity. Big floppy hats in your nearest Primark, right now!!!
It would be much better if Victoria tried less hard…Cheryl and Colleen are having a blast and look cute. Vickie once again, looks like she is try to be superior
Colleen and Alex look fab in their wide brimmed hats. Love them.
I look ridiculous in hats, particularly baseball caps. Although I have to say, I’ve never truly attempted to wear one. They make my head look all weird and bigger than it should. Overall, a very bad look for me personally. Cheryl and Victoria look good in hats. They suit all the ones they’re wearing there. Coleen looks fabulous in the brown floppy hat, which Alex also looks good in. Don’t like Coleen in the beanie hat and not that keen on Alex’s black hat.
I cannot believe I just said hats make me happy… That is probably an all-time low
I LOVE HATS – they make me happy and I sometimes spend a whole day shopping just for them – yep, I am so cool… Someday I will go to Ascot just so I can wear one of those crazy hats they wear. And I love the one that Cheryl’s wearing in the first picture
I quite like the idea of hats in general. I too love the British tradition of wearing hats to weddings and the races. I think Cheryl, Coleen and Victoria wear hats well, but not Alex. Perhaps she suffers the same problem as do I: big fat head syndrome. I unfortunately have a large head, so finding hats to fit me is a bit of a challenge. I curse those hats that say “One Size Fits All”. Bloody liars, the lot of ‘em. I so wish that I could rock a gorgeous Philip Treacy creation, but most hats just look ridiculous on me. The only hats I can wear comfortably are toques, and that’s only on particularly nasty Canadian blizzard days. If any woman can wear a hat beautifully and stylishly, I say go for it!

Really think these girls can carry hats off really well. They look stunning! Especially Alex.
I wear a visor when I’m golfing. But other than that, nope. The problem is the dreaded hat hair. What do you do with your hair style when it gets all squished from the hat???
