Sylvie van der Vaart: Dreams In Purple
Google Translate has provided us with some gems over the years. Calling Yulia Voronin’s leopard jumpsuit of infamy a “stupid tiger costume” is certainly our favorite, but one that resulted from a description of Sylvie van der Vaart’s dress above make us chuckle just as much: Purple Mullet. It’s not inaccurate.
If you are unfamiliar with the word mullet, let us inform you that it’s a hair style that is long in the back and short in the front. It can be seen on many footballers from the 80s and is mimicked by the style of Sylvie’s dress here.
Mrs. VDV attended the Dreamball in Berlin on Friday night (sans Rafa) and wore this purple taffeta confection by Basler with Christian Louboutin “Picks and Co” heels.
This may surprise one and all, but we don’t hate this. The dress is a bit over the top, but she looks great in it and the colour is lovely. The styling is perfect (those shoes!) and her make-up is not the usual false eyelash raccoon eye extravaganza it usually is. Dare we say this is the prettiest Sylvie has looked in a while? We dare.
What do you think? Purple mullet yay or purple mullet nay?
