The Gerrards: In The Stands, Having A Blast

The Gerrards took in the Liverpool v. Manchester United game on Sunday – as spectators, since Steven is still nursing that groin injury.
Hee. We said “groin”.
Since it’s been a while since these two were last photographed/spotted out together, we’re not entirely sure the reason behind the long faces. Perhaps Alex gave Steven a talking-to regarding the size of Toni Terry’s ring in comparison to hers? Maybe they’ve been fighting over whose anti-aging night moisturizer is better?
If we had to bet our Choos on it, Stevie’s gutted about the lack of fanfare his finely styled new coiff caused. Yes, that must be it.

Steven does rather delicious (yum!) and the photos don't do justice to Alex, I think she looked nicer than it seems here.
It's entirely possible the miserable faces are down to a) Alex's lack of interest in footie and b) Steven getting annoyed if she does make any comments.
I can't remember ever seeing them together at a match (thank God Steven's usually playing on the pitch and she seems to stay home with the kids) but I do remember seeing the documentary on him where he suggested he likes ladies who don't know or care much about football. (Bugger…that's us lot out then).
I guess he'd no more want her to tell him his last tackle was a bit off or that Torres needs to watch that offside trap than she would want him tell her what booties to wear with her new dress…
Odd thing is Stevie G looks amazing in clothes (anyone see the pic of him in a suit that accompanied the Martin Samuel interview in the DM a couple of weeks ago – ooh baby!) or without. (I stood transfixed as he took his shirt off TWICE at the Atletico Madrid friendly this August. Half-time and Full-time. OMG! Yum! Husband going, "Shall we go?" Me, "No I'm just drinking in the, er, atmopshere.") & Kickette has kindly given us some glimpses of his rather fine botty. So I think we can put it all together in our minds. In fact, some of us do.) But out on the pitch? Nah. He really has to stop tucking his top into his shorts, I think. Which he didn't do when he was a shaven headed youngster. So: cool hair cut these days, needs to revert to former on-pitch style.

I'm sure Alex was bored to tears, and that's a very unflattering camera angle on her. I would have taken her place there, and I'm not a fan of Stevie G in the least. I'm also debating dressing as her for Halloween, because I'm lately suffering from bouffants and carb face.

well, first of all, I need to go buy a ticket to the party I'm planning to attend, or there's no reason to dress up. Also, I've got a Clemens Fritz jersey and Werder Bremen socks, so obviously I'm dressing as him instead, even with carb face.

steven looks so good dressed down. how they stayed warm is beyond me, since it was feckin cold in Lpool yesterday.
