The English Premier League: Chelsea FC Win The Title

Chelsea EPL Champs

After approximately twenty first half minutes of nail biting tension, Chelsea FC stormed to the EPL title yesterday afternoon, putting eight past a 10-man Wigan Athletic at Stamford Bridge.

With the matter firmly out of Manchester United’s hands, a simple 1-0 would have sufficed for the Blues, but we like to think they had half an eye on the Kickette coverage and scored a cheery eight to maximise their goal celebration potential.

And maximise it they did.

Chelsea midfielder and daughterUsually we would be happy to roll about in these delicious expressions of drenched with champagne ‘baller joy for days to come. But the combination of footy babies and wet millionaires? Mercy.

Post match celebrations commenced at Nobu Berkeley before the team and accompanying WAGs (plus hangers-on) adjourned to Whiskey Mist. Respect to Frank Lampard’s squeeze Christine Bleakley, who fiendishly avoided drunken shouting/singing/snogging debacles upon exit by carrying a bottle of water in her mouth. A technique duly noted by the Kickette team.

Congratulations Blues! Enjoy your victory. Kudos to Didi Drogba for picking up the Golden Boot and the team for netting 100 goals this season.

*note this is a celebratory post so keep comments relevant and friendly.*

    Congrats Chelsea!

I've got my toenails painted blue and am trying to figure out what to do if Bremen win the DFB Pokal. It has to be a semi-permanent green body modification. I've decided green fingernails are scary, and two pedicures in one week is stupid.

    Arghhh Joey and Ruby!

Loving this post for many reasons: the fact that Chelsea won the title :) (especially after I was up ridiculously early in the morning to listen to the match – damn southern hemisphere time difference!) and the cuteness of all the bubbas– particularly the ones that are sleeping! Plus a fatherly Joe Cole and Michael Ballack are always appreciated. :)

  7. Ines del Sol says:

My lads won. It was EPIC. Thank YOU Chelsea! And Frank and Isla [not Luna, Luna is older and has longer hair] – the most adorable way to have your ovaries exploded :)

  8. Winnie says:

yay so happy! Chelsea definitely deserved to win the League this year

and i'm happy that over-hyped Liverpool didn't even finish in the top 4

    good riddance.

although i don't really like Tottenham in the least, at least they deserved their place.

i'm also glad Man City didn't finish top 4–they were really starting to develop quite the ego, weren't they?!

i'm little disappointed in Arsenal's League finish though

i seriously think we could have finished second had Cesc not gotten injured…

oh well! there's always next year! :)

  9. MissU Paolo says:

Congrats to Chelsea for winning the title. All the BBs are way cute. esp Deco's daughter who is the spitting image of him. Thanks for including him esp since he'll probably be heading back to Brazil (and way more hard to follow :( ).

Did somebody win something? Doing my best to ignore that bit, much like the Belletti-kid (couldn’t be sleepier on this big day). Looks like Deco’s kid is napping too.

  13. Inés says:

I can’t accept it, sorry for being such a bad loser.

The Terry’s pose together for a photo after all the scandal? I can`t believe they had the face to do it!

I died seeing the photos, until I got to JT… that was a bit of an anti-climax.

But awww at the babies, Cech's girl is soooo cute and Deco's daughter :)

  19. Ella says:

Can't say I'm happy about it, but Chelsea had a good year and I'm confident ManU will triumph next year! Either way, cute bubbas galore means everyone wins!

  20. Anastasia says:

Ballack was seriously rocking the dad hair last night, so a visit from one of his bubbas was necessary.

  25. Blair says:

So many attractive men = so many adorable children.

  26. Congratulations to Mr. Ancelotti, a manager I respect. The table does not lie and Chelsea deserved their one point margin of victory. Enjoy!

    • FTC says:

I like Mr Ancelotti too. He seems a good man.

Bubbas! :D Make me incredibly happy.

Oh, and the title, too, of course. A well deserved one for my Blues boys! :)

  35. Alessandra says:

OMG the terry twins are so big now!!! and the other omg goes to toni- like whoa, she looks HOT! i think that's the best brunette pic i've seen of her yet.:D

  36. cr9 says:

I agree it was so well deserved I watched that game and MU game at the same time. I was so happy they lost the titlle, and they said they didn't need Christiano " hotness" Ronalo goes to show they lost that spark when he left for real madrid. As for the kids they are all so gorgeous especially the petr Cech kids. Deco has a really beautifull daughter.

    • United scored more goals this season than last when Cristiano was part of the "team".

Plenty of people said United would struggle to finish in the top 4 this season (including some regulars around here). We finished one point from the title, while our first choice defenders and goalkeeper played together for about twelve games total this season.

The critical difference this season was that Chelsea did the double over all major rivals which is a noteworthy achievement.

    • klyn312 says:

HA, “lost our spark” yeah, not quite. it was ONE POINT. Good riddance to Ronaldo, he was NOT a team player anymore. END OF.
Congrats to Ancelotti though, that was a great accomplishment to pull Chelsea together in the way he did.

  37. tammyv says:

    Wow, Isla is pure Lampard…

This Baby Deco, the one who is ill? I hope whichever little one it is gets better soon or is better.

    The Cech bbs are darling.

    Congrats to Chelsea.

And Christine… you should probably plan ahead for the walk of shame because sweetie you did not do it well, this morning.

  38. Deen says:

ROFL. I see what you did there…

  39. mamaly says:
