The Sylvie Scale: Week Two On Let’s Dance

It seems as though Sylvie van der Vaart has found her calling, Kickettes – and it doesn’t involve organizing her Birkin bags by colour.

During the second week of competition on Let’s Dance, Sylvie and her partner scored 27 points, earning her the second highest score of the night and another week of dancing.

More importantly, though, it gives us another opportunity to see how she measured up to our stringent WAG standards. Let’s check in with our Sylvie Scale rankings.

1) Spray Tan
Last week, Sylvie earned herself 6 out of 10 points for sporting a lovely post-holiday glow. The further along she gets on the show = the darker we expect her spray tan to be. Unfortunately for Mrs. VDV, we’re going to have to deduct a point this week. She’s simply not orange enough.

Score: 5/10

2) Costumes of sequin-based insanity
Sylvie’s debut ensemble of gold-bodice lustre netted her an impressive 8/10 - which, we understand, is a tough score to beat. Until this week. We don’t know what kind of boutique specializes in glittery, sheer-paneled dominatrix swimsuits (with one-shoulder epaulettes, might we add), but we bet Alex Gerrard is furiously trying to track down their number. Bonus point for the dangly feather earrings.

Score: 10/10

3) Over-the-top hair and make-up
Sylvie’s pixie cut is unmoving this week, Kickettes. She looks gorgeous, of course, but we need this glam gal to really mix it up in the coming weeks or we’re going to deduct points for lack of originality. We’re not suggesting she put on a Marouane Fellaini-esq afro wig, but why not try a funky fedora or show-stopping headpiece. Hair accents are our mutual friends, Sylvie.

Score: 6/10

Week 2 Total: 21/30

  3. Missy Manchester says:

I don’t care how bad her dress looks…what her skin looks like…whether or not she wears ribbons in her hair…I will always have a hard time saying anything bad about Sylvie because her inner strength…courage and devotion to her husband supercede the superficial. :)

  4. Newsha says:

did u c her in DSDS final???(it’s like German’s X factor!)she was like the most awful judge ever!she really needs simon to guide her!!!!

  5. Sonja says:

Sylvie looks like a tramp in those pics and whenever she speaks German you have to turn off your TV.

Enough already, go back to Holland!

    Bye bye zwaai zwaai!

  6. Gina says:

Hmm…I’m getting a little tired of this woman and her terrible looking skin…honestly. I think Alex Gerrard looks better than her. Thumbs ups for her recovery though.

  7. Audrey says:

LOL, Sylvie comparing to Alex. In my opinion S. is much more naturally, has more style-sense and seems to be ambitious. She is far better looking and I really love her decent glow around her eyes.

    A. is just an annoying, trying way too hard, chav wannabe model. Besides does she work anything? Guess she would have the time now, as her kids are attending school every single day and the cleaning lady cares for Stevens house…

  8. [...] Sylvie Van der Vaart can beat cancer, celebrity dancers, and look good doing it. [Kickette] [...]

i don't think she'll go with wigs girls. for what that beautiful pixie cut symbolizes, i'm ok if she does it the whole way through.
