The Elite XI: Sizzling Strikers
Hallelujah, it’s the start of the season.
Time to play Football Manager, Kickette-style, and it’s a true fantasy league we’re building: the hottest team to ever grace the pitch.
Team affiliations have no relevance here; it’s all about creating a supremely talented universal force of pretty that wins games with ease, skyrockets to the top of the table and battles against the evils of the unattractive at the same time.
We’ll be making our men-as-objects-selects every Friday at irregular intervals in our quest to create the Elite Eleven for the 2008/09 season. We’ve included a few above to get you in the mood, but there are so many to choose from it’s not going to be easy.
Enough chit chat: tell us who you fancy as the hottest striker out there.
UPDATE: We’re going with a 4-4-2 formation, and you’re free to nominate any hot striker you see fit for the task.
FYI, We’re open to suggestions from our always astute and foxy readers:
- Would you like us to have both an EPL Elite IX and a ROW Elite crew, or just one universally sexy squad?
- Should we follow the much discussed 6 + 5 rule?
- Do we stick to the standard five subs, or have a few back up hotties per position?
- or, should we just clone Iker Casillas and put him in every position and call it a day? Do tell.

Iker Casillas…. in every position… oh my dirty mind! But to the task at hand: I vote we only have one universally sexy squad, that way we get the best in one team. No 6+5 rule. And only 5 subs, this is supposed to be an elite after all. As for the strikers – Roque and Torres, no question.

Sorry, I forgot somebody! How could I forget Luca Toni of Bayern Munich, one of the handsomest men on the planet? (Maybe because he’s injured.)
OK, I’m not going to fool around. Go with as many subs as possible in order to get the longest list. (You’re going to post photos, right?) Here’s my list of strikers. These guys ARE the best-looking out there. (I looked at national teams mostly, plus all the Spanish ones.)
Roque Santa Cruz (#1 for sure), Fernando Torres (close second), Dimitar Berbatov (why nobody mentioned him????) Then, has anyone not seen RADAMEL FALCAO GARCIA of the Colombian National Team???? (faints) He plays for River Plate in Argentina. And what about Sergio Kun Aguero of the Argentine NT? He’s gorgeous!!! And Ezequiel Lavezzi who plays for Napoli. Then we’ve got Raul, Fernando Llorente of Athletic Bilbao, Bojan Krkic of Barcelona, Jonathan Soriano of Espanyol, and Oscar Trejo, another Argentine, but he plays for Mallorca.
Oh my, I can’t wait for the midfielders. (rubs hands)

Cloning Iker would be ideal but alas if I must make a decision without doing that then hands down my vote is for Michael Owen, love the local flavor and Robbie Keane who is too freaking beautiful. Little sprity Irish goodness. Subs are Torres and Andriy Shevy…so fine. PS…think we should split it up EPL and ROW indepently. Give the Englishmen a solid chance.

suggest go for EPL and Universal (incl EPL) – that way we can do a country comparison in the latter team as well.

Hot strikers in the EPL? RvP is hot, Michael Owen is cute, and Sheva is a doll. Even Crouchie has his moments. My vote is for Robin van Persie for EPL hot striker. If we open it to all leagues, I must give it up for Adrian MUTU!

Skip the 6+5 rule, we want the hottest team possible with players from all over the world! five subs are enough, we want the hottest of the hottest, no “if-i-have-to” and i think it’s safe to say that cas has no rivals for the goaliepos.
I say go for the hotness but do keep to the 5 subs. My vote for striker goes to Fernando Torres. Rauw. Though Roque can sub at striker for me anyday. As for the Iker-clones: where can I get one for myself?

I think a EPL and ROW XI is a brilliant idea and id go with RvP as my Prem striker and the delicious Ruud as my ROW one!

I think we should do one of both teams. I mean, theres just too many good looking players to lump them into the same category. And on the 6+5 rule, I can’t give an opinion – I can’t wrap my head around this idea. I say we stick with the standard five subs as well. And on cloning Iker, I’m all for it. What formation are we using? 4-4-2? If so, my two would be Roque Santa Cruz and Fernando Torres.
