The Sizzle Query: The Keepers
Here at Kickette HQ, we have quite a soft spot for goal keepers – the solitary men of strength alone with their thoughts and thunder thighs at the end of the pitch, always slightly bordering on crazy due to the isolation, pressure, and taunting, their every-ready highly-coordinated gloved hands – it’s a set of traits that we can get on board with.
So, after our recent discovery of Mr. Steele, we have decided to embark on a serious and in depth reflection period to consider the hot keepers amongst us. It seems to be a position that the sizzlers gravitate towards, yes? Perhaps one day science will determine why.
Our top ball blocker choice is fairly obvious. We nub Iker Casillas more than words/restraining orders can say. But for the sake of full research, do inform. Who gets your vote as the hottest keeper?

My favourite has to be Craig Gordon. I have just about recovered from the pain caused by him leaving Hearts for Sunderland. My boys in maroon are a lot less attractive now.

Ah, goalkeepers. I must admit I’ll fall for a goalkeeper before just about any other position. Maybe it’s an American thing. I love Jens deeply and I do consider him very handsome…but he’s a bit old for me, sadly. (Although he’s an off-the-pitch gentleman and doting father, which does funny things to my insides.) On looks alone I’m all about Victor Valdes. Much more attractive than Iker, who I’ve never liked as much as some. But I also have to put in a word for the next generation of Germans- Manuel Neuer is lovely in a blond-jailbait-with-pouty-lips way, while Rene Adler has a great smile and skill to make anyone swoon.
I also saw some 19-year-old playing for Stuttgart that made me question my stance on younger men…
well, i’m a big chelsea fan and when it comes to goal keepers, we’re way ahead.
But i have to admit Iker is hot.
Going on to chelsea, First its Cech and then its Cudicini.
That’s primarily because Cudicini is A LOT older and that he’s not that much of a good goalie.

Definitely Cudicini. I love Cech, but he’s more cute than hot. I still love Robert Green, despite the fact that he’s not all that good looking and he plays for West Ham. TFO- while I love a nice meal, wine, and the theatre, I just don’t see Edwin VDS doing it for me in the bedroom.

Let me put in a word for Edwin VDS as well. Before you all moan about my taste or lack thereof, I know that he’s older and not so cutesy as some of the others, but he has a certain stately gentleman quality that I appreciate. And he’s very well spoken and intelligent. And he’s still a great keeper, and is still our #1 keeper at age 37 or so, and has over 100 caps for Holland and is their captain. So, pffffttt on your recriminations about hotness. You just know that a date with EDVS would involve a lovely meal, some good wine, a sophisticated night at the theatre or a concert, some great conversation, and then some long slow leisurely hot sex. I love Cech and Lehmann as well – the crazy is so much fun. And I have this really soft spot for Buffon… I want to hate him and think he’s a buffoon but I just can’t! Also, Cudicini is gorgeous.
Iker is by a country mile my favourite though. He is outrageously beautiful, and such a fantastic player.
