Transfer Totty: Filling In The Gaps
Ooh, it’s a little early for tongue, Nolan. What kind of girls do you think we are? Image: PHILIPPE HUGUEN/AFP/Getty Images.
Nature abhors a vacuum, Kickettes. It isn’t something we made up as a convenient opening remark for a transfer update post, it’s the truth.
Don’t believe us? Last week, we told you that Ludovic Obraniak had left Lille for Bordeaux, leaving a massive gap in their pretty player quotient. We were scared initially, but Mother Nature has since stepped in and filled Lille’s Ludo shaped hole with Nolan Roux (above) from Brest. He’ll be there for four years, so we haven’t got to worry for a bit.

Speaking of worrying gaps, Chelsea have taken steps to shore up their defence by purchasing the services of Bolton and England’s Gary Cahill. The £7million centre back has already caused a stir in the Kickette office by stating that he intends to “bring a bit of northern grit” to the West London club, and “if it doesn’t need to be pretty, I’ll make it not pretty.”
Gary? A word, please?
In other transfer news that you may have missed (we definitely did), Bordeaux striker Anthony Modeste has signed a loan deal with Blackburn Rovers, improving the team’s watchability rating by some 50% while Jose Antonio Reyes re-signed for Sevilla eight years after he left them for Arsenal.
