Transfer Totty: The Ins, The Outs

Ink suppliers in Napoli breathed a sigh of relief earlier this month, when top tattooed totty Ezekiel Lavezzi signed for Paris St Germain for a fee rumoured to be in the region of £24m. PSG’s audacious plan to hoover up all the mad talent in Italy before anyone else notices continues apace, with Milan’s Thiago Silva agreeing a deal just last Saturday, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic rumoured to be on his way.
That would be a shot in the arm (not to mention a kick round the back of the head) for our Ligue 1 results round-up, no?
But wait. There’s more…

Lifting the Champion League trophy wasn’t sufficient incentive for Didier Drogba to stay at Stamford Bridge – he received a rapturous reception from fans upon arrival at Shanghai’s Pudong airport, having completed a deal with Shanghai Shenhua worth a reported $300,000-a-week.

Meanwhile, Alex Ferguson has been busy at the drawing board and is now assembling his new, improved EPL winning machine. It’s sleek, aesthetically pleasing design will feature Nick Powell, who was plucked from the relative obscurity of Crewe and has already caused mayhem at the training ground by turning up in a Vauxhall Corsa. Poor lamb.
Speaking of player power, Park Ji-Sung reckons that his move to QPR has already boosted the popularity of the club in his native South Korea. “Korea now know about QPR and they’re famous. The media in Korea now talk a lot about QPR,” the midfielder said in an interview.
We can only dream of what they’re going to make of Joey Barton. If he ever plays for QPR again, that is.
