Victoria Beckham: Intervention Required?

With David off in Milan having his golden balls compromised and Victoria Beckham spending more time on planes and in airports than her own home, she’s been doing some very uncharacteristic things as of late.

Like wearing flat shoes in public. Regularly. Is this a new era for Victoria or has she just lost the plot all together? Three things to consider:

1. Victoria is one of the most photographed women in the world and very astute at using her photo ops/ paparazzi situations to her advantage. Last week she was seen not only hiding from the paps, but doing so while wearing sweatpants (!) and trainers (!). That’s un-possible.

2. Victoria’s hair has been setting trends for years. Pob, anyone? Then we were all subjected to this bizarre abberation of a weave/weft/what-the-hell hair style. No word as to why exactly Victoria chose to wear a sleeping bat on the back of her head, but it’s a serious concern. We’re having difficulty sleeping, to be honest.

3. Finally, as we mentioned above, Victoria and her ankle-breakers are about as synonymous as Louis and Vuitton. Yet she has ventured out, traveling internationally through the airports of Milan, London, and LA in flats. (Some very expensive, fashionable Lanvin flats, though.)

Victoria has previously said she doesn’t get ballet flats and can’t concentrate in them. Yet, she seems to be concentrating on taking her boys to a video shop in flip-flops.

Does Posh need an intervention? A few mental health days? Or is the Queen of the WAGs heading towards a new, more confusing (for us) style direction?

Random: Victoria has been named as the March cover for Glamour magazine US.

She’s also on the cover of Hello! Magazine with her sister, who has just gotten married. The Beckhams footed the £56 bill. (David footed his fashion choices for that day also.)

Thx M!

I think she's reinventing herself. Maybe she has a foot condition that requires her to wear more comfortable shoes. Whatever V-Beck is wearing, I think it's fashionable. I really think she's just telling other WAGs to tone it down a bit.

Is that picture of her and the kids from LA?

(The wedding bill was 56 pounds or 56 million pounds?)

  3. Sarah says:

Love the shoes. And the whole outfit, actually. I’d wear it.

  4. Abbie says:

I love the flat shoes on victoria. I want her to wear more of them.

  5. Dreamgirl says:

I like the way the dress flows. It makes her look less severe. I’m a big fan of flats anyway so I approve. Well done Posh.

I like the new more casual look – but then I am a 'casual' kind of girl. Maybe at last she is going to get her bunions done! She still needs to eat a couple of burgers though.

No excuses for the hair. We all have bad hair days, but never have I been tempted to stick a small animal on the back of my head.

  7. kathmcp says:

Good grief – with those bunions (like the one you can see on her forward foot there!) it probably kills her to wear heels. Those are some majorly messed up feet!!

  8. FootballerChick43 - "Mrs.Ballack" says:

SHE LOOKS AMAZING!!!!!!!! I wish she would dress like this more often.

She’ll be on Glamour in March? Deffo buying!

  9. Elise says:

Wow. I think she looks absolutely fantastic! I love the dress- the cut, the length, the gorgeous shade of blue, the shoes, the bag, the tights….she just gets everything so right. The look is polished but relaxed. And I see no issue with her hair either. She’s just got it pulled back and it goes with the rest of her look. Consider this- if you’re Victoria Beckham and the whole world expects you to show up in nothing less than 5 inch heels on a casual day…and every other wannabe fashionista in the world is copying that look…then what do you do when YOU want to be different and maybe create some new buzz? You show up in flats. Genius. lol

OK…here's the deal with Vicky Becker…

She is now in living in the USofA and must fit in. Celebs over here seem to be more casual in their fashion choices. (Heck…didn't we invent the fashion staples like the Mrs. Roper loungewear, tube tops and pajamas as daywear?) I'm sure Vicky consulted her "people"–aka researchers, PAs, american stylists, etc.etc. before she ditched the stilettos and over-the-top hair. The research must have come back that she was alienating herself from the commoners. Either that…OR…

    she's preggers

Let's make it short: She's great, no matter what kind of shoes she's wearing.

  12. Ella says:

I am loving the new, softer Victoria! She looks so great when she’s not trying SO hard. I have a theory: maybe she wants to seem more human and likeable, and then she can be a judge on the US version of X-factor. Just a thought, I’d love to see her next to Simon Cowell. I don’t think Cheryl could do it b/c no one knows who she is here.

  13. ruby80 says:

I bought Hello today and, wow, her sister is ugly. There’s no other way to say it. And David could’ve made a bit more of an effort for a wedding.

  14. jasmine says:

she looks great! she looks way better this way!

  15. Laura says:

Frankly, the best part of this whole situation is Cruz in that picture of them going to the video store. Hysterical. What a bundle o' joy.

  16. I love the navy tunic dress and tights with flats. (Probably because it is something I would wear.) She looks normal and pretty and polished without the weirdness. But suddenly less interesting, too, no?

    • Gigi Neville-Brown says:

She just wants to see what it feels like to "try" and be normal. Is that a bump I see?

  17. Mel says:

Vic is the prettier of the two sisters…

  18. Thea says:

I think she looks great and is trying to break away from the whole WAG thing anyway… and good for her, David won't play forever and she's proven to be a success in her own right at last as a designer!
