Victoria Beckham’s Lampshade Fashion

image

Have you checked out the new advertisement for Victoria Beckham’s line of designer dresses?

Although we aren’t experiencing the levels of annoyance that began to haunt our waking lives after all the Marc Jacobs crazy, we’re not 100% on board with this either.

We get that it’s hide and seek for rich, skinny chicks, and we support that, so long as the winning prize involves the ownership deeds to the mansion in the vid – but is it artsy-cute or artsy-eye roll?

Warning: there is also a woman dressed as an self-styled elephant in this video.

Your thoughts?  You can check out the video at Victoria Beckham Collection Online

This was the funniest thing I've seen on TDS in a long time! John Oliver rules. And so does the ambassador. Good sport.

  2. Seethedetailstoo says:

This is horrible… Even more so than your usual douchy segments. TDS should be ashamed.

Hilarious. As always, John Oliver has brought us the perspective of hundreds of years of history on the current global climate. And he mentioned “Dreamgirls”. Rock on.

video very annoying and if them girls get an skinnier they will disappear !

Um…. riiiight (especially the elephant bit). I adore VB and the dresses – they're so pretty and she's got such a big profile I don't think it needs such a weird-arse advert to get them sold. But maybe I'm just missing the deep and meaningful artistic point…?

I love it. It's intriguing, cute, and fun. I love Victoria. I've been a fan of hers since the Spice Girls days. She's realizing a dream of hers and I think that's great. The dresses are stunning and I think the line will be a success. The collection is based on one silhouette. I'd like to see her branch out with future collections. Roland Mouret's designs are far more architectual. VB's dresses are of the same length as some popular Roland Mouret dresses, but the similarities stop there. People who hate Victoria will always hate her and everything she does. It's too bad that she has to overcome that since the negative opinions about her are all based on the image the media puts out there.

Love the dresses. But that may be the most disturbing ad I've ever seen in my life. WHY???????

Brilliant– so funny as usual. John Oliver always raising the bar on this show. He is the best!!!

  14. LizB (Mrs. Vucinic) says:

I like the dresses, mostly. But if wearing them would have me playing hide-and-seek in such a moronic fashion I think I'll pass. No dress is worth putting a sock on my head with some elephant ears… lol

  15. CrazyOrange says:

wideo's weird but dresses are nice, i like 5 and 10 the most…

  16. Moonie says:

Im not really a fan of Mrs Beckham but I rather like all the dresses particularly 4 and 9 and I have to admire her for following her dreams when everyone is always quick to slate her.

  17. Dreamgirl says:

    Annoying at best

  18. HoneyBee says:

PLEASE GIVE JOHN OLIVER HIS OWN SHOW COMEDY CENTRAL!!!! YOU HAVE TRULY GOT SOME HORRIBLE SHOWS– MIND OF MENCIA?!! AND NOW YOU GIVE DEMETRI MARTIN A SHOW???? JOHN OLIVER IS !)) TIMES BETTER THAN BOTH OF THEM!!!

  20. VictoryFord says:

i love the advert, but how skinny are those girls!! Brilliant message VB! Also, those designs are orignal. theyre total remakes of Roland Mouret’s designs. I Love VB, but she could have been a bit more imaginative.

  21. Mrs. John Terry says:

Disturbing. Is that supposed to be art?

  22. Becca says:

    hmmm, the elephant.. :S ?

  23. klyn312 says:

I love love love it! It’s light hearted and playful! adorable, very charming really.- But all her dresses, although classic and tasteful, feel as if she is trying to re-invent the wheel.
