Weekend Results: Good For You?

arsenalWe’ve had many a good spa treatment and/or relaxing bubble bath in our time, but nothing has ever filled us with such a sense of well-being and peace than the way we feel today.

Regular footy is back, Kickettes! We know you’re feeling happy too. We’re so overjoyed we don’t even care that it’s Monday. We haven’t felt this good since the day we got our David Beckham life-sized cardboard cut out. And that was a damn good day.

Anyhoo – how were the results this weekend for you? Of course, the non-stop goal action for Arsenal is the big news and a great way for the Gunners to start the season. We thought they looked pretty good out there. Especially the new guy. He’s like a walking-talking advertisement for SPF cream. Or the undead. Regardless, he’s hot.

How did your boys do?

I am very happy with the weekend’s results. Love Ramos’ Body! ugh!

  2. carly says:

My predictions were a disaster so I’m not happy with the results. I’m that self-centered, I’m afraid.

  3. SpaceCowgirl says:

It sucked cos RM lost, but I’m choosing to look on the bright side and say that at least they played soooo much better than they have been and Iker proved he is still a god. and looked gorgeous doing it, which of course is the most important point. lol

  4. Baby Freya (Mrs Arbeloa) says:

Thank you Sergio Ramos! (Y) I was rather happy with the weekends results, Pool only drew but Chelski and Man Yoo drew too so we’re still top of the league!!

  5. LizB (Mrs. Vucinic) says:

It was a good weekend… Liverpool could have won and that would have made it infinitely better, but we’re still top. Roma won with an awesome goal from Vucinic who then proceeded to take his pants off during his celebration. Aaaand Real didn’t lose as horribly as everyone was predicting. So… good weekend :)

  6. Schveeden says:

def. happy about barcelona’s win over madrid – i think they’re the best team in europe =D

  7. suzie says:

I’m happy.Liverpool are still at the top even though we’re playing badly and there’s no torres. Real Madrid didn’t get the hiding I thought they would and went down fighting, with iker showing the world what a god he is and he looked so hot doing it.

  8. SemiCharmed says:

I’m still extermely pissed off about Javi Garcia not taking his shirt off. RM-Barca was a really good game, but Schalke-Hoffenheim was even better with the attempt at a fight and all the red cards – I couldn’t contain myself. My fav pics from this weekend: Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

  9. GO says:

aaaawwwww….sergio ramos looks so sad. we so appreciate the shirt removal, especially in these hard times. footie Saturday wasn’t that good, still no Nando *curses everything* and frustrating result.definitely but as the weekend ended, it got a bit easier to see the full half of the glass. p.s. chocolate therapy helps ;)

  10. Helle (Footiegirl) says:

Yes – Liverpool still at the top! Life could only have been better had they actually won the game ;o)

  11. Moonie says:

Could have been better but at least the Toon won – happy hubby means a peaceful life for Moonie!!!!

  12. autumnmaple101 says:

The Chelsea results broke my heart, I need chocolate therapy!

  13. Anna (Frau Manuel Neuer) says:

ooy the whole weekend pretty much sucked for me. bayern drew, chelsea drew, RM lost, schalke drew, so hoffenheim’s bundesliga’s winter champion u_u

  14. CrazyOrange says:

he really made my day ^^

  15. Genevieve Gourcuff says:

Villa winning 4-2 = def a good weekend!

  16. The Fourth Official says:

Another frustrating opportunity to move up and we didn’t take it. And now we’re off to Japan, for a meaningless tourney. *sigh* Sometimes being Kings of Europe is just such a pain in the *ss. :)

However, I"m sure we’ll return, with two games in hand, ready for our customary surge in the New Year that will see us safely through to more silverware in the spring. A fit Paul Scholes is a beautiful thing, may I add.

  17. Sarah says:

Vermaelen’s a hottie. Ditto Cesc. And Eduardo. And yeah pretty much the whole team. Uh-mazing start to the season. I’m so happy! :D

  18. Nando's Ma says:

Rubbish result for the redmen but I expected it after watching the pre-season games. One loss isn’t the end of the world and I still expect us to challenge this season. Just hope we do well tonight against Stoke but I’ll be singing til the end, win or lose, as always. Goodison result was a bonus though!

  19. klyn312 says:

was a *perfect* weekend Kickette, thanks for asking!
    Happy new Year girls!

  20. uneditedmara says:

Unhappy with the Pool boys. :( I need a whole gallon of ice cream to heal that wound.

  23. LoveLamps says:

Just delighted to be watching the football again thank you. I am glad CFC got the three points and am looking forward to the rest of the leagues starting. I love football from dusk to dawn!

  24. Hibaaq says:

Hopefully Arsenal will be the rightful champions of the League. I gotta say though I haven’t noticed how hot Bendtner and Denilson were before watching the watch. Tres HOT.

Anyway Arsenal for premier winners if not they win the hottest team trophy especially with Verminator!!!

  25. Kelly_Cahill says:

Well sadly i was supporting the everton boys on saturday :(
Very upset over the result and very upset that cesc (another one of my true loves) scored..!

  26. redandwhite says:

  27. FootballerChick43-"Mrs.Ballack" says:

It’s so good to have footie back. Oh my God.

The weekend result was okay. I mean… its a Chelsea victory. Can’t complain too much, but we still have a long way to go. Congrats to Arsenal though – that was a great match and one that won’t soon be forgotten.

  28. Whooohooo gooo gunners! Ya Vermaelan looks like a member of the undead hehe…Great weekend!

  29. Lucy says:

Ugh, no, it has not been good at all! I don’t have anything more to say, just Liverpool had better pull themselves together before Weds >:(

But I was glad for Arsenal, they did really well :)

  30. gunner-chica says:

  33. Rusty says:

Chelsea won (yay!) but I slept through the game.

My Kickette hubby is playing like butt, again or still, and getting slaughtered by his team’s fans.

Vermaelen = meh; I’m not a fan of vampires in the least. I got through 30 pages of Twilight and only 20 minutes of the movie.

  34. Erin says:

Thrilled that the season has kicked off! Love having the matches to look forward to. :D A disappointing display from my Pool boys, but it’s just one match and we’ll get it sorted.

  35. chloe - trainee WAG says:

yes my boys won, overall it was a great weekend of footie, hopefully da rest of the season will be gd. Roll on match of the day i say lol !!!

  37. natalia says:

I hate Eve! bet they will fall to championship after this season hie hie ;p

  38. aristeia says:

My boys did… meh. Although there were some bright spots, but those who needed to step up didn’t. Disappointing but still the 1st game, so life– and the season– moves on.

  39. sarah says:

the boy and i got up at 630 AM on Saturday (we’re in Canada) to watch the games live….

arsenal was AMAZING. so excited for the season. i wrote a little diddy about vermaelen which i then proceeded to sing through the entire game…

“Vermaelen, he’s impalin’, the other team is wailin’ cuz they’re failin’…vermaelen!!!”

The tune changed a thousand times but the point remained the same. so pleased with the new acquisition!

i believe cesc’s two goals and two assists were his response to his removal from the FF. Not only is he adorkable and is rocking some decent hair…the boy has skills. COME ON KICKETTE!! PUT HIM BACK ON THE LIST!!

  40. Baby Freya says:

Not a good weekend for me…Pool lost and were seriously lacking some Xabi hotness :(

  41. Dreamgirl says:

Sooo happy the footie is back. United won, so that’s great.

Congrats to Arsenal. A very impressive start.

  44. Gigi Neville-Brown says:

Quite happy that United won. I love that our boys are proving that we truly don’t miss Crissy at all. Good riddance. Can’t wait for Barca to kick Madrid’s expensive, little ass.

Where did our photos go, Kickette?

  45. LennyL says:

Well, this was quick! It was only last night (NYC time) that I was begging you girls to post more on Vermaelen. What a treat to wake up to. Thanks. And I’m pretty sure my neighbors think I’m insane with all the screaming I did during the Arsenal match. What a great opening weekend!

  46. debs says:

My boys, my Liverpool didn’t do well at all… :( It was kinda awkward to watch that game and now, afterwards, i feel very very disappointed.

  50. FirstTeamCoach says:

Yes thank you kickette, I found the weekend’s result pleasing! So happy that the season has finally started.

  51. strawberrym says:

    Yes Arsenal!!!!!!!!!!!!

  52. Great weekend! As the lovely Emily stated, it felt like Christmas morning — all that wonderful anticipation and then the day is finally HERE. So glad the boys are back. United won, so I can’t complain. It’s so, so early in proceedings though….so much excitement yet to come.

Xisca & Nadal are still together. Right?

  56. Winnie says:

    OMG! YESSS! Arsenal’s back!

and DUDE Moya’s the guy who stole Rafa Nadal’s girlfriend, Xisca!

oh snap! i’m not sure i can support this…

  57. Ira says:

My boys, mighty Reds, lost… 2-1 from Tottenham…

  58. iker's_baby123 says:

god bless sergio ramos… im very disappointed with real madrid…even with saint iker saving a penalty and two other great shots they still let him down yet again…shame on them :(

  59. Dani.Mrs José Manuel Reina (PLQ) says:

not a bad weekend but not Excellent.. the ramos just made it all worth while though !

  60. aristeia says:

Good baby Jesus, thank you Señor Ramos.

The weekend could have been better… but mostly b/c of the whole lack of power, etc for 2 days. That kind of blew. Chocolate helps though, Kickette. And half naked ballers… so thank you.

  61. Dee13 (mrs m metze) says:

a lot of draws for my teams, RM lost but it was a great match.. so it was kinda meh for me.. however, i know no one cares here, but Toronto FC got dwayne de rosario.. that is good news… :)

  62. Zatil says:

Real Madrid lost. :( And the stream channel I watched didn’t work properly. :( But thanks to Sergio, he made my day by removing the shirt. :P

  63. Venice says:

    Oh Raúl…!

Some of the results were OK, some were meh – but the outcome was generally better than expected.

  64. TammyV says:

NEWCASTLE WON!!! NEWCASTLE WON!!! NEWCASTLE WON!!! Oh, I forgot NEWCASTLE WON!!!! 3-0 YAY!!!

El Classico was a brilliant…entertaining from whistle to whistle. Although, Messi’s hair was unacceptable. No idea what happened there and I want it undone now. I am blaming Sergio

another week of Liverpool, Chelsea and ManU drawing is another week of solid entertainment!
