Sorry to be petty but with players like Ribery and Canna who dont play for Nike teams they just wear a plain shirt but with Drogba he wears a Nike Ivory Coast shirt but they are Puma. Can anyone explain.
I think it's because the Italian team is sponsored by PUMA, while ze French are sponsored by ADIDAS, while Ivory Coast are sponsored by NIKE…and its a NIKE ad so they could not include the other team jerseys…
It's only the players that have contracts with Nike, not the entire team.

video is nice. but, it would've been better without the restrictions of endorsements and contracts. what do i mean? well, the fact that messi wasn't included in the video cause he endorses adidas is kinda obvious. you know it ain't football without the number 1 player, right?
Thats why players sponsored by Nike are in it, however, now that people say that this ad is really awesome, it ads pressure on Adidas, who are official sponsors of the FIFA world cup, I wonder what they have in store.

It’s like how Nike hasn’t brought back the Joga Bonito concept and have newly created “Write the future” campaign, just like they had those freestyler campaign a pre-2006. Unless, Adidas are using their “Jersey has a story” campaign as their official ad for the World Cup, I don’t know.

Really disappointed, it's all over the place. Way too much going on, and the camera cuts are terrible, I feel like I need dramamine to watch it again.
It's also a total ripoff of the 'Take it to the Next Level' advert from the Euros.

They have to keep a certain image.
Alejandro González Iñárritu did a great job with the advert, in my opinion.
Captures the two sides of the game. Great joy for one country, and pain for the other.
I disagree. It is easy to get caught up in the excitement of the WC, and we've all been anxiously awaiting this commercial. You cannot claim that it's not choppy and cuts too quickly between scenes; you can hardly notice half the players.
I was a big fan of the Euro '08 commercial and I just don't see the same creativity with this. I think W&K fell short and just assumed that bringing in another big name director would solve the problem.
It doesn't cut too quickly between scenes. All the actual players are noticeable. The only ones that aren't are the extra actors.
Creativity was everywhere with this: the celebrations of Drogba's almost goal, Cannavaro's party, Ronaldo being treated like a megastar, AND ROONEY'S FUCKING BEARD. Not to mention Federer and Kobe made cameos.

I'm not trying to convince you it's bad, I'm simply giving my opinion, and clearly you don't agree, no need to continue to berate.
I think you misunderstand the genius of this ad. Yes there is a lot going on. But the choppiness you speak of actually inspires one to watch the ad over and over again. In this instance you calling up your “advertising background” is rather silly as ads are nothing if the ordinary people without advertising background don’t appreciate them.

(could’ve used some sergio. only complaint is spainish nt should’ve been more diverse. i know they were trying with cesc, but come on. could’ve had navas, pique, and sergio)
