Yoann Gourcuff: Can’t Be Bought?
We’re having a hard time dealing with some tragic news, Kickettes.
Apparently, the lush and he-of-excellent-pose, Yoann Gourcuff, “doesn’t make money a priority” in his life.
Hang on. We’ve run out of tissues, let us just re-stock.
Ok. So, here’s the story: Yoann’s agent, Didier Poulmaire, told the magazine Quotidient du Foot recently that the Bordeaux striker was called upon by Milan to return. To woo him, they took the mega-money angle, offering him mucho euros.
“Milan focused everything on money when they tried to convince him [to return], but Yoann chose to consolidate his performances with Bordeaux. Money is not a priority.”
To further prove his point (and hurt our fantasy lives), Poulmaire said that Yoann also turned down a telly commercial shilling perfume. He was offered €500,000 to become a product ‘ho and declined.
So, we’re dealing with a man that not only refuses to sell out so we can watch him in some product porn type advertisement with (one would hope) zoom shots of abs and lashes, we’re also having to accept that our boy’s value system is, sadly, in balance.
You know what true love means, dear readers? You stick it out through the tough times. And so, we’ll be cranking up our Cheryl Cole mega-mix and standing by our man. Sniffle.

why is he so perfecto?
*sighs in disbelief*
Obviously Yoann and I need to marry, like, yesterday.
How perfect is he?! Seriously, he absolutely defies the young-hot-drool-inducing baller laws, what with neglecting the party scene filled with hos and skanks and making his football a priority over money. I deeply respect and appreciate this man.

By the way, Gourcuff says “money is not a priority”. Yet, he made a new deal in may with Bordeaux. His salary jumped from 175 000 € to 370 000 €… and that took long and difficult negociations with Bordeaux because Milan was precisely offering more. And I don’t believe one second he stayed in Bordeaux to “consolidate his performances”. He stayed because there’s the World Cup in the end of the season and leaving to Milan would have been risked (first, he was not sure to play, second he would have had less visibility).
Nice blog btw, funny and… an interesting feminine point of view…
Nicolas, yes but l’OL want buy him and he could have a better salary …and Domenech is a ex-Lyonnais…
If you know french “championnat” you can’t deny that Bordeaux guys are very friendly and Laurent Blanc is a very good coach with great players (Trémoulinas Ciani or Gouffran will be french national team futur and big europeen club futur, and Diarra, Chamakh are good yet) so staying to Bordeaux will be an evidence with world cup and with that.
Lyon offered 400 000€/months and he finally got 370 000€/month with Bordeaux… I’m not saying 30 000€ represents nothing but look at the context. Lyon, for the first time since 8 years, didn’t win the Ligue 1 and was not far from the catastrophe (ie not participating to Champion’s League). It was at that time impossible to know if Lyon was going on declining or not (apprently they’re not). Maybe Gourcuff chose to stay in Bordeaux despite a smaller salary and that’s nice from him, but he also made a logical choice : Bordeaux is simply better than Lyon.
And I agree Bordeaux is a very nice team with friendly players, it is also quite humble team (well apart from…. Gourcuff, cf his “panenka” against Bayern Munchen). I didn’t say Bordeaux wasn’t friendly. Was just talking about Gourcuff.
Hm and, Kickette Admin, I wrote “Quotidien”, without a T.
I think he is paid 310 000 euros a month, isn’t he? At least that’s what the “official” news about the best-paid French footballers said…
Did you mean “Quotidien du Foot” ?
Cheers
He needs to be a itty bitty bad just to even life out. I don’t want him to suddenly turn into C-Ron just because he wants it ALL to hang loose (including his morals) due to repression.
Good for him! In light of present transfer fees, it’s nice to see there are still some grounded ballers out there who don’t just follow the pound signs around the world.
While I suspect he’s not exactly strapped for cash, it’s nice to see him sticking to principles.
Come on, be a bit bad Yoann…. you know you want to
so handsome!
ohh… i love him even more now (if that’s even possible)
My Yoahh has values! many people/players should take notes on this one
LOVE YOU YOAHH!!!!
Aw, he’s so great.
This is me hoping he comes out of the closet and embraces his biggest fan with hugs and kisses.
Oh, and Yoann, gay marriage is legal in my neck of the woods so why don’t slip a ring on my finger for me!
OMG! Thanks God a footballer who doesnt care about money! He’s awsome!
OMG! Inever thought Yoann was that type of guy. I love him even more now
Oh wow. Yoann just won me over. Put me on the Yoann fanboat. Seriously.
I Don’t care Anymore.
I love him and true love lasts forever
He’s so perfect I’ve become numb to all the good Yoann news. Stick a fork in me.
Good for you, Yoann. However, it’s not like he’s poor at Bordeaux. He’s the 2nd best paid player in France.
He is one of my favorites for sure…but I am still not totally convinced this man is straight.
why does any man that is good looking get accused of being gay. till I see him sucking on another man’s, um, face I won’t believe it.
I love this man so much. Words do not even cover it.
Morals, those eyelashes and great abs to boot. You can ask me to marry you at any time now Yoann!! ;D
swoon and stuff. really!
Wow, what a man. Glad to see he has morals. Sadly, not many footballers do. But in the end, that’s what makes it more fun right? I mean I’ve never seen Yoann dancing drunkenly like Crouchie…Too bad.
