Yolanthe Cabau van Kasbergen: Bicycle Race Beauty
Giro d’Italia. Nope, it’s not a new gelato you somehow missed out on – it’s something a tad less exciting.
Each May, “Tour of Italy” bicycle stage race attracts professional riders from all over the world. For the 2010 race, cyclists will begin their trek in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and (hopefully) cross the finish line in Verona, Italy.
Similar to the Tour de France, the lead rider wears a special-coloured shirt. Obviously, this is where the new wife of Inter Milan’s Wesley Sneijder comes into the picture.
Recently, Yolanthe Cabau van Kasbergen was chosen to wear the prestigious crown of Miss Giro d’Italia 2010. Honours include: doing things with her hair and riders’ jerseys for the sake of publicity. She is also scheduled to host the Dutch kick-off festivities.
Be honest: you were hoping you would see Yolanthe find a hair tie strong enough to secure her mermaid mane while she rides in the 2,500 kilometer race.
Now that we’ve all got our world sport education fix, here’s Yo modeling some of the leaders’ jerseys. And here’s how we feel about it: first is the worst, second is the best, third is the one with too much eye makeup and heavy lighting.
